I gotta come out in support of Ben/Yoda/Anakin's robes as Jedi robes. They always looked like that to me. Ben's robes are similar to what they wear on Tatooine, but they are certainly different enough to warrant being a different type of garb. Never questioned it being the vestments of the Jedi Knights.
