I'll make that thread if -1 promises to only make sensible posts here and post the nonsensical stuff there.

Oh, and if he responds to Moth3r's post.

Awaiting comments on previous post. We will be posting a slightly color corrected version of the 11 minute Red Segment posted earlier. This would have been for a possible Grindhouse release, which is currently not scheduled.

What's Grindhouse release?

Check out the War of the Stars fan-edit for an example.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Looks good, maybe darker than I imagined it would look, also it carries that flash of colours thing going on especially in the sky were its more noticeable, will that be a constant in the final release do you think? Is it from the degradation of the colours on the film itself?

This project is really coming along nicely, I don't get the impatience with it, given what is involved. I am looking forward to seeing eventual updates added in from other sources (unless Poita is working on his own restoration that will remain separate). The clean up work looks quite good, but I still think that there might be some colouring issues (high on the reds and yellows) that are resulting from the imaging method. Something to think about for afterwards anyways, as you/the team mentioned you had done some preliminary colour correction.

Anyone notice the similarities in the quality of the color correction and the recent Rinzler Ebook footage from the deleted scenes?

They look similar to us.

Is there any point in keeping pointing that out? They have obviously also been scanned from faded prints, so it seems to stand to reason that they would look similar.

To be absolutely honest - no, I don't see any similarities

The comment may have more to with Moth3r's questioning and Frink's taunting in these 2 threads .... an unfortunate side effect perhaps?

We find it interesting, because the deleted scenes from the BD were in much better condition. Why would they have those in better preserved condition and not these deleted scenes?

I am working on my own restoration, but that is from different film sources than the -1 team. There are Australian prints around, but I won't hijaak their thread, just wanted to clarify that film I am scanning is not currently part of the -1 team effort.

Wow, I had no idea. I though you were just doing the 8mm. Is there anywhere to discuss this?

AMPS might be a good place, if poita wants to keep it on the down-low.

I can add you to the "X0 Project" group and we can all talk about it there.

Wait, is the X0 Project still alive, or is that just a name?

That was my general understanding poita, but I am glad that you clarified it just the same. I apologise if what I said lead to any confusion. I think by working on full scans on proper sources, like you are doing, your project is going to go a long way to fully preserve the original theatrical prints as best as we have seen or could hope for.

Now as to whether the X0 project comes back/still exists in some form, that would be an interesting discussion.

So enough derailing of the -1 people, I'll be over at AMPS :)
