The line can help a little, but R2 does make the location appear up on the monitor. I believe Obi-Wan just uses that as his guide towards the tractor beam control.

It's a tough call. I could take or leave the line though. Definitinely have to have Chewie scaring the little Death Star Droid away though. Neither that nor the 3PO line were in the original opening day version.

Thanks for that other link to the releases. I had the Davis DVD one.
