Well, I watched ANH last night on the '92 FOX LD ( that I just happened to buy for 9.99 at local used movie store along with the '89 cbs/fox ESB, for 9.99 as well!). That 3P0 line seems so outta place, it literally sounds like it was recorded on a different planet or something. I would suggest leaving that line out if possible, it really doesnt add anything to the movie. On the other hand, its not a big deal either way.
The '92 ANH played perfectly last night, all the way through. I was actually pretty impressed with the picture quality. Sure there was lots of film noise, but thats the '77 film I guess...once I dialed the brightness WAY down, the picture was very nice.
Here are my complaints with the LD, the stupid tie fighter blocks are still noticable in some of the later space battle scenes. Also, the final scene with the fake people on both sides at the ceremony is so obvious I laughed.
All in all, I got chills when I heard Han say "Yes, I bet you have" with all that sarcasm, rather than "I bet you have." Then, wait Greedo never got a shot off, that's right...

So am I correct in assuming the definitive lds do not have that C3P0 line? I'd leave it out if you can, unless it sounds better than the 92 Fox version...cause that was noticably out of place.
