I have a JVC SR-S388e, it's a fairly solid semi-pro deck but the built-in TBC sometimes has problems with Macrovision-protected tapes. I did a cap of a PAL tape recently for drngr and the image was jumping all over the place.

Before that, the last cap I did was a tape of my late gran receiving her MBE at Buckingham Palace (which was also Macrovison protected - wonder if I was committing high treason by copying it?). Did a 3-cap median to remove drop outs and it came out pretty nice.
