I have 15" MacBookPro with 500Gb SSD. I did test capture with HD 1080i as well as 720p. My HD can handle it. I also have the setting to stop capture if dropped frame is detected.

I will however try to set it to insert a blank frame.

But my question to you is, are you certain that your BM doesn't drop the frame? If I weren't doing simultaneous capture, I wouldn't be able to find this out. I suggest you do the capture with BM and either at the same time or after that do the same with "proven technology" (i.e. VirtualDub). See if you got skipped frame.

As for S-Video, I tried both DVP 649 DVD player and LD-S2 Pioneer Elite LaserDisc player. I didn't like the results at all. Diamond VC500 gave much better results.

Another thing is that Intensity Shuttle might indeed be different from Pro or Extreme.
