WOTF just didn't catch on for some reason. If you log onto the internet how often do you see that acronym? I can't say I do but almost every time I look around the web my response is WTF!

As for trailers and clips and stuff I would prefer not to be honest.

The next trailer that interests me is the SW:R Saga Trailer which will be released with ESB:R the finally completed, done and dusted, in the can, movie I can watch from beginning to end.

I've watched all the clips posted so far so that I can comment on them and hopefully give Ady and the gang some ideas and support but part of me wishes I can get my mind wiped of all things ESB:R before seeing the final project and I'm envious of people who will discover it as a completed item.

Well that was supposed to happen in 2009 and 2013 is already almost over.  A strong part of me thinks it's never coming out.  He's just going to keep tweaking and tweaking and tweaking stuff that is *almost* noticeable until the day he dies.

No offense, Adywan does great work, but this is just excessive and unnecessary in my opinion.  Maybe when it comes out I will share it with my grandchildren.

This is a perfect example of when you should decide to not hit the "POST REPLY" button.

Coming from someone who over half the time doesn't even post relevant replies that doesn't carry much weight.

I was polite and stated his work is great, because it's true and I really believe that.  So because I hold the opinion that this is gone on long enough (NOT the opinion that it's shitty work or any such nonsense) I shouldn't be allowed to post my opinion huh?  I have to have the same feelings about it as everybody else to be able to voice it?

Whatever.  At least it was ABOUT ESB:R.  Over half of your posts are unnecessary, so I really won't worry about when you think something shouldn't be said.

Beginning a sentence with 'no offence' doesn't somehow give you licence to then be offensive, nor does it magically diminish the offensiveness of what comes after.

Ady is fixing as much as he possibly can so he only has to release this thing once. I think it's obvious from what he's already posted that he's now onto the final stretch. Not that you'd have the right to pass judgement even if it wasn't.

He's not making it for you or your "grandchildren". It's a personal project that he happens to be sharing. It's a labour of love and if it takes a long time to finish, then that's just a testament to how much work the Revisited team are putting into it - something Lucasfilm with its vast budget, staff and resources failed to do satisfactorily.

Adywan asserts "it will be released when it's done". (see thread title)
You presume to tell him "it's gone on long enough", so basically saying "give it to us unfinished because your idea of finished is stupid and unnecessary".

Back to the Revisited Saga....

I'm not sure if I brought this up before, but I wouldn't mind the episode enumeration dropped from the crawls entirely. Just start as "Star Wars. It is....", then "Star Wars. The Empire Strikes Back. It is..." For A New Hope I could take or leave the episode title in the crawl.

In my mind, Star Wars is and will most likely always be a three episode story. Axing the numbered order would let me live in my own fantasy land where the prequels never existed, but in no way take away from those who really want them to be part of the universe.

I have no idea what I'll think of the sequels, but I am hopeful they are good. I would just like to have the "ultimate" versions of the original three to live in their own finite space.

O.T. or No T., baby!

I'm sorry I offended.  And I also never said he should release it for me or anything like that.  I never said that because I think it's unnecessary he should release it.  I never said what he was doing was stupid.  I never called anybody names.  I never said it wasn't good.  In fact what I meant was it's already really good and more tweaking IN MY FUCKING OPINION isn't going to make it better.  I know it is MY OPINION.  I never said that not having this opinion made you wrong.  I never said Adywan doesn't have the right to do what he wants.  I also never said what he was doing was stupid, so thanks for putting words in my mouth.

Calling somebody a little twat when I never personally insulted anyone is a little rude I would think.

Jesus Christ, honestly.  I know it was just my opinion and I never even SAID anybody should change what they are doing for me.  Like I said, because my opinion is not the same as everyone elses you feel the need to jump all over me.

I really didn't think you would get so offended just because I think it's already really good.  I didn't mean it to be mean or to insult him, I meant it to mean he's already done a really good job.

I never expected or wanted him to change what he's doing just because I hold the opinion that it's already good enough.  It is MY OPINION.  I never said it was CORRECT, or that you should think that, or that it even matters.  I never claimed what I think matters.  It doesn't.  It's not my project, it's adywans, he has the right to do whatever he wants.

I think it's already good enough, but adywan doesn't think so and of course he has the right to keep working on it as long as he wants.  I hope you can make peace with me thinking that.

Christ you people are touchy.

You're just a rude little twat

Adyman is doing the prequels, so your point is crap.

Hmmm....

I admit what I said was out of line and I immediately wished I could delete it but before I could change it to say something else I already had people flaming me over it.  It was just my opinion, never meant it as disrespect to adywan.  If anything the opposite.  Sorry.

It's posts like this that makes me want to just take my damn time just to piss a certain number of people off. I do apologise for not working on this 24/7 until i collapse. i'm sorry for not being able to work fully on this project while i looked after my sick parents full time and then deal with their subsequent deaths. I'm sorry that i want to have a life outside of Star Wars and all the things that come with actually having a life, like all the legal things that come with dealing with my parents estate and then moving from a tiny flat to a larger house so i would not only have more space to be able to work on these edits but also to have a better life. I hope you have fun sharing it with your grandchildren when i decide to finish it in 2025. And it always makes me laugh when someone puts "no offence" at the beginning of a post, because you just know what is coming.

But in all seriousness, i have probably only been working on these edits for the same amount of time that i did on ANH:R. There is not much left to do. But i am not a studio, i do not have the facilities or resources of a studio, so things take time.

EDIT: I was typing this up before your post appeared, Possessed. Your post did come across as insulting, especially when you felt the need to add the sacrastic line at the end about being able to share it with your grandchildren as a not so subtle dig at the time it is taking for me to finish this edit.

That's actually pretty much the opposite of what I meant.  I meant that you had already done more than enough work on it.  I'm sorry if it came off that I think you should be working more or harder on it, because that is the exact opposite of what I meant.

I understand you taking it insultingly, I am sorry, I did not mean it to be.

And my point was not to make fun of you for taking your time.  My point was to say you've already done a fantastic job.  Sorry I did not do a good job of verbalising this.

Also I just wanted to say that in no way do I feel you aren't doing enough or that you don't have a right to take time off.  I really just meant that with all you've done you deserve to feel accomplished already and that you've already done something to be proud of.  And by saying what your doing now is unnecessary (which I know you don't agree and I respect that) all I really meant was that you've already done such a good job that you shouldn't feel like what you've already done isn't good enough.  That's all.

I understand you wanting to do all that you are doing.

I am sorry everybody.

All my posts are relevant in some way. And they're all necessary.  It's how I feed my family.

This fan edit in particular is a very meticulous craft.

A lot has to go into it... These things take time so be patient.

The project has no doubt benefitted from it's long development cycle that means it benefits your enjoyment when it is finally released.

Stop thinking like wham bam like everyday tasks work or chores and this edit.

It is what makes it special that it is not like that.

Most films today suffer because of people breathing down film makers necks. Let's not do this to people who are devoting as much time as they can to something for all our enjoyment

I'm pretty sure it is actually WoRF.

In that context it's more Way Of the Wookiees  as in WOWRadio.

No offence Ady..... but I think you are doing a great job keep up the good work.

On another note, maybe for ROTJ:R and ANH:HD you could do a kickstarter campaign?

I guess the only issue is that you can't make a profit? Well the easy solution to that is... spend ALL the money!

On another another note,

I am glad the Han in Carbonite fiasco was solved.

However, what was the resolution to the Rebel Transport problem? I remember some guy declined to let you film is ridiculously expensive model.

I think the usual response about funding something like Revisited through Kickstarter has been that it's a bad idea due to the matter of intellectual property.

I, however, completely disagree. Due to it being non profit, I believe it would be allowed, provided the bonuses you provide via each donation tier do not include the actual edit (as this might open a legal can of worms)

A donation of £10 or more, for instance, might get you a Revisited keyring or badge to show your support. Or even just an entry into the prize draw donators already get.

A mid range donation might get you a Tshirt

A mid to high range donation might get you a canvas print of Ady's custom painted cover art.

The highest range donation tier (in the tens of thousands) could consist of a particular prop from the production e.g. The Han in Carbonite plus an 'Executive Producer' credit in the final edit.

These are, of course, only examples, and the amount of tiers/rewards are only limited by the imagination.

As long as you make it emphatically clear it's a not for profit project, I see no reason why you couldn't fund each and every film in the Revisited saga through a single campaign - Revisited has become pretty high profile now. I think after ESB:R is released would be the time for a campaign.

There have been a few fanfilms funded through Kickstarter, 2 examples of which are below. Neither of these projects were shut down and successfully reached their funding goals:

I've been holding off sharing ANH:R with my girlfriend until ESB:R comes out, and she is happy to wait as long as it takes so we can watch the two films back-to-back, as she follows the production on Facebook and has great respect for the effort and love going into this.

I finished playing a fan-made mod of the first-person shooter Half-Life recently, and I thought of Revisited more than once during my playthrough. Black Mesa: Source took 8 years to make with a team of developers and programmers and mappers working almost around-the-clock. This is largely one man (with a fantastic group of men and women helping him in important ways) and I think it's remarkable that it's only taken 5 years, given all that adywan has had to deal with in real life.

Some might consider it hyperbole, but I believe we're lucky to have ANY fan-made special editions of this caliber to enjoy. Revisited is the reason I still consider myself a Star Wars fan today, after turning my back on the franchise after the Prequels. It's been a fun ride these last 5 years watching ESB:R take shape. I've no doubt the final product will be worth the wait.
