How often are these lost lines and alternate takes in the novelization?
A lot of the time as far as the oot films. But how many were actually filmed? well the Rinzler stuff and the blu ray makes it appear a good many of them were filmed.

I know all of the stuff for the original Star Wars was in the novel (another reason I love this blooper reel? A perfectly usable shot of Luke delivering a line from the novel). I actually think the ESB novel is shorter than the script in a lot of cases, so almost certainly all of the stuff in there was filmed.
