I have also always thought that midichlorians were a good explaination of why droids can't use the Force. In fact, I am surprised that it hasn't come up in an explanation of why the Yuzzhan Vong arent in the Force.

And it is obvious that there is more than one view of the Force. Some Jedi, like Vergere, don't even believe in the Dark Side.
