I doubt this would be possible but what if the Death Star II fired on one of Endor's Moons and the chunks of Rock from this destruction destroyed the Rebel Ships.

I've always had issue with the powerful, planet crushing DSII laser being used to destroy a battleship. But I'd have even more issue with it taking out a moon of Endor. Seems that the debris from the explosion would not only take out Rebel ships, but also Imperial ones and maybe even the moon our heroes are on (they're on a moon as well, right? Not the planet itself? I can't remember exactly, but I remember Akbar saying "The forest-moon of Endor.").
