One of the commentors on the Badassdigest article said that all of the executives want to be a part of Star Wars, and that is probably contributing to the uncertainty over the script. I'd like to think that this wasn't true, but it sounds plausible. It may just be such a massive psychological undertaking that nobody really wants to commit to a story for fear of it becoming like Episode 1.
