Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 433

I finally found a nice authoring tool, that is capable of handling all the audio tracks with proper menus. It's called Blu-Disc Studio MX. You can request the key to a full working 30 days trial version on their website.

Here are the menus I made:

They aren't animated but all have seamless background audio/video and with the popup menu (last picture) you are able to switch between the audio & subtitle tracks while the movie is playing.

I can really recommend the program, the full version costs 500 USD though...

No matter what we get, it can't be worse than the Blu-ray's menu (and version of the movie, of course).

"Let's face it, the Ewoks sucked, dude" -Hurley, Lost 5x13-Some like it Hoth.

Please bear with me if I tend to get too excited about anything or say too much, I have issues.

That looks great and the 30 days trial should be more than enough. My question is though, can you make menus with moving backgrounds in it?

If you mean videos, yes. All backgrounds in my menus are videos of still images with background music. I just added the buttons in the program.

You have to demux the videos to .264 and .ac3 files though. The program doesn't accept mkv or m2ts files.

500 bucks after the trial is up?  Wow.  Can it make my kids breakfast too?

Definitely beats the $5,000 to $26,000 that Sonic Scenarist costs, depending on the version or the $50,000 for Sony Blu-Print.

What kind of sound format is on the Harmy project... I'm wondering with my AV reciever having to decode the audio... is it AAC, AC3 or PCM?

I have a 5.1 channel setup... And what about the DTS sound from the blu rays... will that be available?

peace,

Actually, I thought the official Blu-ray menus were really well done. Can't say much for the special editions, but Lucasfilm obviously had some $50,000-plus software at their disposal to create the menus.

I just downloaded the files from tehparadox via jdownloader 2 and when I get to extract it says the rar files are corrupted.

I am on mac and don't know what to do. Will I have to download all the files again?

Try unrar with separate application (e.g., unrarx). Look at the rar extract log and it should show you the problem file. Download again the corrupted segment.

Well I think they're awful and unpractical, especially for the bonus discs. But as we say in France, "Tous les goûts sont dans la nature" (All tastes are part of the nature). :)

Personally, I prefer by far Deho's menu. With Harmy's animation... Yum!

FWIW, you probably shouldn't have to specify "German Forced" as an option here.  If you choose German audio, the menu logic should auto-enable the German Forced subs--and the same thing for any audio language with corresponding forced subs.  However, that does mean that any forced subs should be automatically disabled when you choose an audio track with a different language, and that logic might be more cumbersome. No idea, I don't do menus ;)

Thanks for the info. You're right of course. Will change that and encode it again.

By the way, I got a reply from the company with the key and license file 5 days after sending the request. So anyone who asks for it: Be patient.

In addition: If anyone needs help with the program, just message me. It's quite simple though, compared to Scenarist.

No spam intended, but you might have to add another audio track option: in Navajo.

Oh man I would LOVE to hear that. Though there's no way that audio track is readily available since it's debuting in theaters next week. Plus it's probably synced to the Specialized Version, and it would take a native speaker to edit the audio to match the GOUT.

Whoa, that's even more than Stinky paid for his Russian bride...

They need to give the pt the Navajo treatment. Great option to redub and subtitle aliens.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Thanks, now I got it.

Now I have a new issue.

When I try to open the mkv file on tsMuxerGUI (so I can add subtitles and create a AVCHD)  an error appears.

Assertion failed: (curPos == end), function extractData, file ..vodTrasnport/src/matroskaParser.cpp, line 134.

I hit OK, than appears

Can't detect stream type. File name: .../Star.Wars.Despecialized.Edition.v2.5.mkv

Someone knows how to fix this?

Thanks again

Does the 30 day trial have any limitations, like watermark logos or the amount of clips you have?

Because when I used the 30 day trial for DoStudio Authoring, it always put a short clip saying:

"This Blu-ray Disc was created using the trial version of DoStudio Authoring Edition by Sony Creation Software"

before the main menu and it didn't seem to handle more than 3-4 clips, though I wasn't sure if it was a limitation as I couldn't find any info on it.

Though considering the price difference (I think DoStudio was $5000), it shouldn't have them.

Also, I like your menus, they're looking great. Though my only nitpick is that for Audio Options, the tracks listed go beyond the safe area (so it'd be cropped out on certain TVs). Could they be squeezed in a bit more?

10 years ago I had sonic DVD software bundled with my pc and that had an option for tv safe zones. I'm surprised that this is still an issue with HDTVs

On some TVs it still is, and even without overscan you should at least not put your text that close to the edge of the screen. That's why the Title Safe is so far into the frame... you know, aesthetics and stuff.

Man, you people really have to learn about safe areas

++ It didn't take me long to discover that there are sets out there (16x9 HDTVs, mind you, not just 4x3 SDTVs) with completely ridiculous amounts of overscan. If you design anything for public consumption, always assume the worst. The safe areas are ill-defined these days, but Laserschwert's chart looks pretty good to me.

People with that amount of over-scan should really throw their TVs away.

Pretty much every video, DVD, compositing and 3D software I've worked with during the last 15 or so years used the 5%/10% guides, so I'm pretty sure that's the most common ratio for them.

You might be reading the chart wrong though ;) Only stuff outside the "Action Safe" frame might get cropped off... sometimes only half of it. But when it happens, text outside the "Title Safe" frame would be too close to the edge of the screen to look aesthetically pleasing, so it's advised to only position text inside the "Title Safe" frame.
