Just found out about that EditDroid 1984 Demo laserdisc from the Revisited Facebook page. What's the latest news on this, did Ady get it?

Quoted from FB:

An update on the rare ROTJ laserdisc:

Donations, as usual, will be through paypal just by clicking on the paypal button on the right hand side of this page:

Hmm... I haven't been seen around here for a long time, and last time I was "active", I donated the odd dollar, or quid, or whatever or two. I'd do so again, except lots of personal expenses have cropped up, including new baby expenses... I'll see what can be done... It won't be much, but I'm assuming every little bit helps, right?

Sorry, I don't mean to harp on about it, but isn't this:

In breach of this:

From this point forward, the following simple rules apply:

  1. No personal attacks.
  2. No excessive profanity.

That's what prompted my initial response.

 Spoiler free for the ST

It was a completely tactless thing to say and Frink called him on it. Can we move on please?

More tact, and less profanity please? This isn't the dvdtalk.com forum. ;)

Consider my "little bit" added to the pot. Once things calm down, I'll revisit the issue and see if more needs to be done, and what I'm able to do then.

Spudz777 Donation: REVISITED.  Is it done yet?

I'd just like to point out that you selectively quoted me, thus changing the context.

And now I'm going to spend the next few hours trying to understand Bingo's post in the context of xhonzi's post.  I suspect I will ultimately fail.

Ady makes everything called 'Revisited", this much I thought was obvious.

I'm really curious how many people have donated sperm, blood, and plasma to make money to send to Ady...

Talk about a project built on blood, sweat and tears...

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

I agree, Frink, and I would have no more written that than you would have; but I understood what he must have meant straight away and took it in exactly the same way that Bester did.

Oh, I knew he didn't mean it literally.  But people who have no sense of perspective, or how their words might possibly sound, make me very grumpy.

My apologies.

I meant no ill will towards anyone. It was a joke...a poor one, at that. I only meant that it would be a shame if what he started was never finished, regardless of what happened. I have nothing but admiration for Adywan. I'm aware of how much hard work and risk he's taken to share in his edits, and like many of you, can hardly wait for each release. What he's doing is pretty much what we all thought should've been done with the Special Editions, and so I'm grateful that someone has taken the time to do a good thing for us old Star Wars fans. I'm sure I speak for most of the new fans, as well.

So again, my apologies.

That was an awfully strange joke, but thanks for clearing it up. :-)

Some interesting developments....

I will donate some cash to the project but I have not had any cash come in for ages. I did a job for the company that Jaita works for and they still have not paid quarter of a year later.

I think they are trying to screw me or they are incredibly disorganised. Either way not happy but I will donate something once it starts to come.

Not a personal attack on you Jaita but not to sure about your company. I may have to take them to small claims court as it stands.

On a cheerier note good news on that disc... I wonder what that will be like.... It also makes you wonder how much footage there is locked away somewhere.

There's loads of it we've never seen....and probably never will. But, these editdroid demo discs seem like a good source for this kind of material if anyone knows where to look........apparently each disc had different footage on it, so while ours contains takes from Luke and Yoda's conversation on Dagobah in ROTJ, other discs will have shots from completely different scenes on them. Keep your eyes open for any of these floating around, they're a potential gold mine for OT SW footage that you probably wouldn't get to see otherwise.

No problem Ronster,....I'm in the Belfast branch & we had a bit of a hit due to the recession a while back, at the minute we don't have a large workforce so we have to use freelance guys, I know from them that they have to keep phoning head office to get paid,.....which branch did you do the work for?

Keep on ringing them, every day, they'll be forced to pay you

I'm sorry for the silly question, but i still haven't figure what is the ROTJ laserdisks that is so important to get? What is their content?

Author
Time

I wondered this myself...

It is 50 outtakes of Luke and Yoda on Dagobah in Return of the Jedi. Or at least that is the description I have found about the disc.

Will be interesting to see this and any other outtakes.

The hunt for this material is now on I guess.

I don't know what the other discs have on them though or how many of them there are apart from this one.

You know how people wonder what was left on the cutting room floor? This is a digital copy of (some of) the cutting room floor for RotJ.

The fact that "laser"disc is analog still baffles me.
