$1200 plus shipping. Wow... :O
I don't know that we could have raised that kind of cash in 7 days. Even 12 people would be $100 a pop.

That's not too outrageous compared to what some people have paid for prints of certain movies around here. There are likely fewer collectors with 35mm projectors in their house.
Here's hoping someone on the board got it.

Oh, definitely. I once paid nearly that for a 16mm IB Tech print of Horror of Dracula. Just saying, as far as crowd-sourcing, $1200 is a lot to raise. The interwebs are full of stingy people who want something for nothing... They are also full of people willing to donate their time, money, and energy, but those people are fewer and farther between. Not to mention that whatever funds donated would have gone toward one person getting a killer print...
Here's hoping, though, that someone here got it. :)

No, not yet. I did with a few other titles by that seller, but I don't know if he passed my contact info on or not... You're welcome to try - maybe you could get through where I couldn't. (Not being sarcastic or anything; please try! You never know...)

10/26: I've sent DavesPeanuts another PM via Ebay (with a message regarding a 70mm reel set of BRAINSTORM, which I am tempted to get, as the current blu-ray release is of "okay" quality). I asked him to forward the address for this thread to the winner, so hopefully we might see them here.
PS: whoever is doing the actual restoration, could you PM me your email address? In case DavesPeanuts contacts me, I would like to have it on hand to possibly send to the winner of that 35mm print... or you could PM him here.

I do not know yet. I just sent him an email through my live.com account... so I guess we'll go from there (though I think it would be fair to at least cover whatever shipping and insurance costs he might have to spend).
If you want to email him too, feel free to, as I mentioned he might be receiving some greetings from fellow OT.com members welcoming him to the community.
PS: I think he is mentioning the 16mm print as a back-up, as he doesn't mention that he WON'T allow the 35mm film reels to be used.
Regardless, I'm crossing my fingers, my toes and my nose hairs that the 35mm is accessible.

One last thing: since it appears that we have a member who has access to the tech to transfer film to an HD format, there is a 70mm set of film reels of BRAINSTORM for sale (currently @ $127). If I purchased it, would someone here be able to transfer it to 1080p? The current blu-ray Warner put out is rather.. lackluster to say the least.

Hello all you Song OF the South Freaks....I am the owner of the 16mm LPP and the 35MM IB-TEC print. YOu have been interested in.....Were are you cat's located?? I'm on Jersey, so if you would like to work out a screening date. That would be fine by me......I must say, I'm not sure about leaning the print out.
I would at least like to get to know a few of you guy's. I would hate to have to poke someones eye;s out for messing my print up...LOL
No really, I good with having it scanned, but I would need some reference, from at the very least other well know collectors.
