I've been waiting patiently. :)

The capture of SW looks great, althor.  It seems that sides 1&2 and 3&4 are joined together.  Is there an IVTC script that takes this into account?  Mallwalker's latest script envisages separate sides, but perhaps the script's intended for ESB.

There is the script which I have made that coincides with these raw captures.  I still haven't fixed the last couple of bugs which were discussed earlier. Now that it is in the wild I hope somebody who actually knows what they are doing will release a script that fixes everything and works with these raw files.

I certainly hope you'll continue uploading the rest of the trilogy, althor1138.  I'm very much looking forward to getting newsgroup service again and downloading these once they're all posted :)

The raw captures of the JSC trilogy are now available.  The IVTC scripts I have for SW and ESB are complete, but still have several errors that need fixed.  I plan on fixing them, but who knows when I'll actually get around to it.

My captures of the '97SE turned out pretty good imo so I'll probably post those next.  I have IVTC scripts for the '97SE Trilogy finished already.  They had minimal cadence changes, unlike the JSC.

Also, I don't see a reason to post the DC but the extra material might be of value to some?

Thanks a lot for posting those althor.
I've got a few sides downloaded, but probably take a few weeks for me to finish getting the rest.
After I've gotten them I'd be happy to help with IVTC scripts.

Personally I'm not interested in DC.

The masochist in me might like to finally finish IVTC of the time-compressed '82 disc.
Did you plan on posting that one someday?

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

That would be excellent.  Thanks for the offer.

I do actually still have the raw file with sound to the '82 P&S so yeah I could post that.  I do plan on posting the '97SE first though so it'll be a few weeks at least before I get around to that.  It's 60+ gb just so you know lol.

Thanks so much for this, althor1138!  I've been waiting a long time to have access to a high quality transfer of the JSC :)

Edit:
I seem to be having some problems with a few corrupt parts of ESB Side 4, which I cannot get to repair.  PM sent.

What is the correct protocol for replacing corrupted parts in the newsgroup?  Should i just repost the corrupt parts with "re-up" in the title so everybody knows what they are?  I guess the best situation would be if the corrupt parts could be replaced but somehow I don't think that's possible.

I'm glad that the people who are interested in these captures will get to play with them in raw form.  There is more to come as well.  The 97SE looks pretty awesome.  I think with some adjusting a lot of the scenes from the 97SE could rival or eclipse the gout in quality.  There aren't any lobster faces/crushed blacks like in the '04DVD either. There are still a few scenes that suffer from the DNR but it doesn't seem to be as offensive as the GOUT.

The damaged files are 5,8,85, and 99.  There are sufficient pars, but any attempt to repair the archive fails.

Did anyone here decide to snatch the 97SE?  I don't have newsgroup access but would love to get these.  It would be nice for the DTS I have, we could get it synched with these.

Just drop me a pm.

Thanks.

They are forthcoming.  I'm giving my router a little break before I start with them.  I'll definitely post here when they are finished though.

I haven't got all the files down yet, so I don't quite understand the problems
which Chewtobacca and Mattman are experiencing.

Could it be that the RAR parts got corrupted AFTER the PARs were generated?

althor are your files exactly 104,857,600 bytes long? Do they (still) match the SFV file?
Presumably the SFV was generated before the corruption, since the sizes in the SFV are exactly 104,857,600

It could be, but in that case the pars would presumably be able to restore the corrupt rars to their original, uncorrupt condition.

Ooops!
I think I meant to ask ... BEFORE the PARs were generated?

The point I'm trying to convey:
before re-uploading them, althor might be prudent to check his RAR parts against the SFV,
or by using his RAR app's 'verify' mode etc...

Ok, I've tested the archive with winrar and everything is fine.  I've verified the par2 files. I've also checked the rar's and par's with sfv and everything checked out ok.  I've also extracted the file from the archive and it went just fine.  I'm assuming something happened during the upload or on the server side so it should be an easy fix to just re-upload the 4 corrupted parts if I understand correctly.

Should I give them a different name so they don't get thrown into the same collection, or is it ok if they have the same title?

I would change the Subject.

Author

I don't think throwing them in the same collection would be a problem.  The pars should be able to find pick them up.

Author

They should be available shortly. Let me know if there are further problems.

Thanks, althor1138!  Just finished downloading the corrected parts and repaired/extracted the avi file without any difficulties.

Author

Got the four replacement parts without errors.
Still, attempts to repair the archive are failing
and verbose mode isn't offering many clues.

Anybody suggest a different par app to try?

What have you tried?  I used either Quickpar or Multipar I forget which.

Failing that, let me know which parts you are having trouble with, and I'll see if I can help out.

Author

I can say that I used Multipar to create the par2 files because I had trouble with the other programs working on a 64bit operating system.  I don't know if that helps or not but I thought I'd throw it out there.

par2cmdline-0.4 is all I've ever used, since starting with binaries back in 2006.

Forty parts are incomplete, but I've no idea which of those might be the problematic ones.

Will try Multipar next, thanks
