We all know that stand-alone Star Wars movies are a done deal (Like it or not) so what do you want to see???

I thought, this could be an interesting thread. Lemme hear your ideas, your plots, your titles, your locations, your characters, your actors and if possible a few "Screenshots".

This would be my first choice to see at the cinema...

Ewan McGregor in...    BEN KENOBI: THE DESERT PILGRIM

This would play on SW's Western genre influences. Ewan is the perfect age to play this right now, his portrayal of Kenobi was just reaching it's peak at the end of ROTS, I wanna see more.  He would be like a lone hero from the old west, walking the wind swept deserts of Tatooine, righting wrongs and getting into barroom dustups with Tatooine's seedy denizens. Think the 'Fistful Of Dollars' movie, the 'Kung-Fu' TV show and the 'Lone Wolf & Cub' comic book.

Early on, we could see him secretly protecting Luke (Yet still be unknown to the young farm boy). Perhaps using the force to stop Luke from crashing his skyhopper in beggars canyon or even rescuing an unconsious teenage Luke from a skyhopper wreck and returning him to the Lars homestead. Maybe placing a caring hand on Luke's head, whispering "The Force will always be with you Luke" then disappearing silently into a brewing sandstorm.  The plot could revolve around the Hutts being forced to allow the growing Imperial powers to control Tatooine. The Imperials begin opressing and threatning the moisture farmers, so Ben fearing for Luke's secluded safety, decides he must saddle up his camel thing and ride to the rescue.  Maybe he even has to join forces with Jabba and the other Hutts. Maybe he is later required to betray Jabba leading to the Hutt Gangster's obvious hatred of Jedi in Episode VI.

Plenty of scope for cameos from other characters. Tarkin could be the newly appointed Governor ruling with a merciless fist.  I'd love Watto to make a comeback and let's not forget, he and Kenobi have never actually met.  I could see the good side of Watto that was hinted at in the PT, being played up. Maybe he's forced to take a side, maybe his character faces his final redemption, maybe it costs him his life.  I'm seeing lots of windswept shots of Kenobi in flowing robes backed by Morricone-meets-williams music. I want to see this soo badly now.

Tagline... "The circle is now complete"

I'd like to see a film that takes place in roughly the same timeframe as the Tales of the Jedi comics. It doesn't have to follow the same plots or characters featured in the comics, but the look and feel of those stories should definately be preserved.

As for actors I'd cast, one (obvious) choice comes instantly to mind.

I second the motion for an Obi Wan movie set between the trilogies. :)

Kids still love the Ewoks, right? Finish off the Endor trilogy. The kids who played Cindel and Mace could return, as could Warwick Davis. In my mind, Mace didn't die in Battle for Endor, and has gone Col. Kurtz on the Duloks. ;)

And I want just one Ewok film to live up to the misleading European poster art.

Seriously, who the heck is that guy between Wicket and Teek?

There has got to be a Tag and Bink movie. There's room for side splitting comedy in the SW universe. And Kevin Rubio has to write and direct it.

It would be so easy to Forrest Gump the actors into scenes from the saga now.

And since Disney owns Marvel and Star Wars...

Adapt the Seven Samurai homage from the early days into an animated film, so I can finally see Jaxxon on the big screen in all his bad ass glory. George be darned!

Disney animated classics presents: SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE

Given that Disney are behind the franchise now, wouldn't it be great to see this done as a hand-dawn (But CGI enhanced) animation epic. Obviously you can't do it live-action because the cast are too old. But the old gang could easily voice it and with Disney's top artists on the case this could be beautiful.

There is a huge pre-existing SOTE fanbase out there, that have already bought the game, read the book and built the model kits. It seems like a financial no-brainer for Disney.  They wouldn't even need to pay a big team of people to do pre-prodution designs. It's all be done, the ships, the costumes and the locations have been envisioned in meticulous detail. I think they would have to re-tool Dash Rendar to be less obviously a stand-in bargain-basement Han Solo. More of his own guy.

It's generally thought that Dash Rendar is a cheap Han Solo knock-off.

But some of us have slightly longer memories.

Here's another spinoff idea inspired by this image...

titled...             THE DARK LORD: RISE OF AN EMPIRE

I'd love to see a whole film following Vader taking place directly after ROTS. He'd be channeling his still burning feelings of loss into a merciless quest for vengeance on the galaxy.  Obi-Wan said Vader "Helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights" but we never got to see that, some destroying but not much hunting.

He could be scouring the four corners of the galaxy hunting down the last remnants of the Jedi order. There could also be a parallel story following the seeds of the rebellion including young Mon Mothma and we finally get a proper look at Alderaan and what Bail did before ANH. This would make the later destruction of a planet we'd come to know, by Tarkin even more powerful. There would also be room for a certain young Mr Fett who would be in his late teens by this point and also on a hate fueled vendetta against the Jedi. You could get a whole trilogy out of this infact if you went down the route of a big time gap between films. We could see young Leia growup to become the strong leader of the rebellion accross movies 2 and 3 ending with her daring assault on an Imperial compound just escaping with the plans of the Death Star, pursued once more by THE DARK LORD!

^ We never got to see enough of Genevieve O'Reilly's performance as young Mon Mothma. The actress clearly spent alot of time getting the voice exactly right. Time that dedication paid off.

^This is actually an older Daniel Logan in the real armour!!! He looks frickin' badass!

I recall the launch for SotE being something along the lines of "a movie release with all of the trappings!  (but no movie)".

There was a soundtrack (which was pretty good), posters, comics, toys, t-shirts, etc...

If they made a movie... I just don't know.

I was with you right up until here. No. I never want to see him or Temuera Morrison associated with Boba Fett ever again, even if it means never seeing another Boba Fett appearance ever again.

I know that's too much to hope for, but it physically pains me to be reminded of how Lucas absolutely, 100% ruined the entire character in AoTC.

I know.

Why not show the first human explorers of that galaxy far far away on a five year mission to explore strange new worlds??

The ship's captain could be Han's distant ancestor and he could get off with some green lady every other week.

I would say they should just leave the OT characters alone.

Otherwise I am fine with anything.

Think of how cool a Boba Fett movie would be if it was more or less like an intergalactic version of last year's Dredd (without the blood obviously/unfortunately).

Well now that I did a bit of thinking, they could bring in Scorsese to make a mafia Star Wars film. Maybe a Casino-like, where Jabba sends some of his guys to Nar Shaddaa. :)
