Although I'm sure they're going to sell a bazillion dvds, and yes it's just the first day, I don't see the release of the dvds being the triumph that Lucasfilm envisioned. There's just too much dissent from everywhere that can't help but be noticed. Sure most of the reviews are positive, but there still are a fair amount of negative ones. Amazon's customer rating for the trilogy has fallen to 3 1/2 stars out of 5, and this is due to the dvds. You have new scenes which are sure to rub people the wrong way, minimal extras, and various blunders like the green lightsaber. And the audio problem is nothing short of a total debacle. Not to mention any time Lucas is in any publication promoting anything star wars, he automatically gets asked about the originals. Again, I'm not saying we've won anything, but it just seems that the release of the dvds is far from the unequivocally successful release that Lucasfilm had in mind.
