"[E]diting things, VERY slowly..."

But slow and steady wins the race!  Congrats, and I look forward to seeing this.

I've updated the first post in this thread with LOTS of details about the contents of the three discs in this collection.

Also, check out the links to the two trailers for this release, both of which were put together by ThrowgnCpr.

Speaking of, ThrowgnCpr did a fantastic job authoring these DVD's. This was a monster of a project, and I just want to publicly thank him for helping me see it through to completion. I can't wait for people to see what he's done. The menu screens are so intricate, and they look amazing.

Soon. Very soon. And I really mean it this time! :)

Wow!

There is just so much here...

The DVD menus are top notch! Very professionally executed and fit the game perfectly.

I started with the cinematic cut. Fantastic. I love that you've managed to throw in a little humor here and there in the gameplay. Great way to experience the story.

Disc three is ridiculously packed with tons of stuff! I had no idea there was so much stuff out there surrounding this game. Makes me wish you'd consider scavenging for materials for some of my other favorite games like Jedi Outcast or Galaxies.

This simply a phenomenal release! Well worth the wait. Fantastic job all around.

Thanks so much to Galactus, MoveAlong and ThrowngnCpr. You should all be proud. =)

Look what came in the mail..

It actually arrived yesterday but I was quite busy and without proper internet.

I've only had a quick flick through so far but I'm impressed with the amount of media compiled. Hopefully I'll get a chance to watch the cinematic cut during the weekend - and show it to a younger star wars audience.

I'm impressed with the packaging - I would have been happy with envelopes.

Thanks for putting this together guys and extra thanks to Galactus for mailing me a copy.

You're very welcome! You were the first person to post in this thread after I started it way back in 2008, so it was just my way of saying thanks for the support.

I think I'll send a few more copies out to folks who are interested. If you would like a FREE copy of this release, PM me your mailing address. I'll send a copy of the 3-DVD set with artwork and printed discs, in a 3-DVD case TO THE FIRST THREE PEOPLE WHO PM ME. Due to soaring international postage costs, I'll have to limit this people in the USA only. Have fun!

** UPDATE ** And the three DVD sets are all taken. Thanks for playing! :)

Wow, beautiful release, really!

So far, I've watched the purist cut, and it's really great to be able to watch the whole story that way. It's the right balance between a longplay that can easily be... too long to watch, and a cutscenes-only montage where we miss a lot of the story. It really does the job perfectly.

Fans who are not gamers, and even those who just haven't played Bounty Hunter, this is really for you. Here you have a good expanded universe story presented in a very understandable and comprehensive way.

The DVD menus are very well made, very professional, clean and right in the mood.

And the Special Features are just amazing, I think it would be very hard to find a more complete coverage of the game. This release could really be subtitled "The Completist Edition" (special mention for the glitches video!).

Ah, this release brings back so many memories, and not only of the game (god, can you believe that it was released 11 years ago?...) but I know Galactus was working on it for so long now, I'm so happy that it is finally made and released.

Congrats to Galactus, MoveAlong and ThrowgnCpr, great job guys!

(And thanks again Galactus for sending me an all-printed set)

I can completely acknowledge that the amount of material on the Special Features disc is insane. There's no way I can estimate the number of hours I spent over the years searching the Internet for stuff related to the game. I still can't help thinking about the material I became aware of that I was never able to find!

Thanks for the kind words. Your "Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II - The Cut Scenes" fan release was a HUGE inspiration for the "Bounty Hunter" project. It was (and still is) an awesome release! I was watching it the other day, and I remembered that I had "borrowed" a few ideas from you! :)

Well I finally finished watching the 3-DVD set and i must say that you guys did an xcellent job with creating it. I enjoyed both "The Purist Cut" and "The Cinematic Cut". Both versions brought together a stunning masterpiece of storytelling each in their own unique way of presentation. Then add in the third disc which is loaded with a ton of special features and bonus content which i enjoyed aswell. Overall, this is an xcellent release and will be a welcomed addition to my (any) Star Wars collection. If there are ever any more conversions of Star Wars video games to film dvd versions, these are the guys to do it!

Thank you Galactus, MoveAlong, & ThrowgnCpr for your hard work in creating this release.

I have been trying to find this one for a while and with help to Galactus (thank you!) I finally got to watch it today.

I watched only Disk 2 - The Cinematic Cut. My overall impression is very positive!

The DVD itself is done very professional. The menus are great, very responsive (note that I did watch it on my HT PC, as I no longer have a dedicated DVD player), very atmospheric.

The video quality is good, especially during the pre-rendeed cutscenes. In-game sections show the ago of the game but the cutscenes are amazingly good, the motion-capturing in particular.

The audio was solid during the pre-rendered cutscenes and menus, some cracking and wobbliness during captured footage but I think this is normal. I got a 2.0 on my setup but I'm unsure if this was due to codecs or the release itself.

It's obvious a lot of work has gone into the editing. From time to time the "player" shows the entire scene in sweeping 360 degree shots, which is nice. I also really enjoyed the moments when Jango's display appeared, as well as the sniper rifle section.

The "widescreen" treatment was barely noticeable and I didn't feel like parts of the screen were cut. It felt very natural in 16:9!

Admittedly, after the first half hour the firefights can get a bit too much but that is something that's unavoidable, especially in an arcade shooter such as this.

It seemed to me a lot of effort was put to trim them down as much as possible while keeping the flow of the story, which is good. Still, somehow I feel that had this edit used cheats during gameplay it would have been great; seeing Jango cut through lesser thugs even faster.

Something to note, the DVD fast forward/fast backward function is very fast and smooth, which it usually isn't on my rig (and hence why I avoid DVDs). Thumbs up here!

I haven't payed Bounty Hunter (never had a console) and couldn't really experience the story, despite wanting too. And the story is good!

As someone who doesn't have any previous knowledge I had no issue following the plot and enjoy it as a movie. I can fully recommend!

Good job, guys! And thank you!

EDIT: Just found out my dedicated sound card was disabled in BIOS after some hardware changes during Christmas, so this likely explains why I got only 2.0 stereo.... apologies for any misinformation!
