So, any checkerboarding on althor's full cap of SW JSC? I couldn't find any. Of course there is some rainbowing here and there on noisy parts of the picture and very small moving details, but I see that even moreso with my Panasonic captures.

I decided to buy a Toshiba DVD recorder to check out the filtering, but the D-KR4SU that I got just has a 2D comb filter with plenty of rainbows and dot crawl.

The manuals for the D-R1 and D-R2 note 3D Y/C Separation, but it looks like the feature was removed from the D-R4/D-KR4 onwards! (Unsure about D-R3.)
