sooo, i got my audio ready for you guys.

this was synced to the u.k. blu-ray with mgm logo & orion logo. the audio opening logo (image entertainment & hemdale films) audio from the ld have been replaced with the mgm & orion to match the blu-ray video.

if there is still interest, let me know and i'll upload it.

please remember, mine is not ready for blu-ray. it's a 1.0 @ 44.1khz flac file.

I have the US version which starts with the Orion logo.

zeropc, where is the origin of your track? Do you know how it was transferred?

the mono pcm came from my thx laserdisc and it was synced by jj666. he left the original ld logo audio intact. i replaced them with the logo audio from the blu-ray in adobe audition.

Ah! Good job.  I guess one could decompress the FLAC back to PCM WAV?

Anyway I've been playing about with the PCM track I got from here and managed to sync it to the US remastered BD by adding a delay of -8950ms. Seems to work pretty well and not noticed any drifiting!

Sorry for getting back to you late NeonBible... sounds like you did exactly what I did and it was successful.  The MS version works fine but it's nice to know people are still trying to work on alternative methods and options.  Thanks guys.

No problem. Planning to do a terminator marathon so this should do while we wait for Team Blu's improved version.

Is anyone here able to put a completed MKV with the 1984 audio on MySpleen? Or perhaps a custom BD? My computer died and this one that I am borrowing is a true piece of shit that cannot handle any audio/video capturing, muxing, etc.

Please let me know. Thanks!

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

I'm really looking forward to the T1 release especially!

When I got the special edition dvd some 10 years ago I was amazed how good it looked compared to my old vhs from my childhood. But the new 5.1 mix  sounded far worse! :( Later on I got myself the US dvd with the mono intact.

You're release is going to kick some ass :) Good luck with the project!

I have deliberately tried not wanted to watch any of the Terminator films until this is released, much like not wanting to watch Empire Strikes Back again until Ady's ESB: Revisited is complete. It's been a long wait, but will be worth it I think!

this might have been answered already and i simply overlooked it, but here is my question...

will t2 feature a re-creation of the original theatrical colors?

there was some talk about, that the original live home dvd  featured the theatrical colors. after finally getting the dvd (special thanks to jonno), i can confirm it doesn't have the original colors. the dvd already features the more blueish colors, introduced with the special edition laserdisc.

on the plus side, said dvd features the original theatrical cds 5.1 mix, which was confirmed by dvdmike.

It would be interesting to see a sample of the original colors you're talking about. All we could do with T2 was balance what was there since we have no color reference.

there is a featurette on s.e.ld box / s.e. dvd / skynet bd regarding the color changes.it shows how it looked and what it was turned into.

Interesting. I wonder if the "how it looked" parts can be used as an accurate color reference.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

dang... i can't find the showing of the color changes on the dvd. only found a slight segment in pacific data images part of ld stuff on the dvd. you see a scratch removal from old version with original colors into new blueish colors.

Most early transfers to LD and VHS had to deal with a very limited color availability so they were not exactly accurate in their look.

What's the basis for the idea that shots lacking a blue tint are the theatrical colors, as opposed to an untimed transfer?

Author

i have a memory of a color comparison, which showed two scenes had untouched colors and then blue tint added, but retained the red lights of the truck.

or maybe i just mixed something up ;)

Sometimes when one wants to know how a film originally looked, theatrical teasers/trailers can be useful. I searched youtube and found this one.

Even though that trailer has a bit wrong tint on the reds, you can clearly see the blue in lots of places.

We had 35mm cells in the thread the blue was there

if you look closer at the trailer, you can see that all night shots have a natural look for skin tones. the movie almost killed them and pushed heavily towards blue faces.

just saying ;)

Trailers are never fully timed, I have nearly all the LD's and they all look the same
