Happy Birthday Harmy!
EDIT: Sorry, that was supposed to be a PM.
Happy Birthday Harmy!
Where can I find the disc art for these editions? I have the bluray covers but i have been unsuccessful in trying to find the disc art files.
The old megaupload link does not work.

Dude! That looks awesome! Seriously, that's a very impressive newsletter that's both comprehensive and succinct in covering all that's happened in the past month in relation to Harmy's Despecialized Editions of Star Wars. I especially like how there are plenty of links leading directly to whatever interesting news you mentioned.
And on that note...

Woot! I'm famous!
Haha, seriously though, I'm glad I've been able to contribute even a small part to this amazing project. I've barely been active here for even a few months, so thanks to everyone for all the work that's been done and for the continued community effort to restore Star Wars to the galaxy!

Need the disc art for the DE's? DragoonClawNZ says to get'em here!
lol That was quick.

Thanks HanDuet! I appreciate the compliments! Now that you're famous, just remember me when the big money starts rolling in. :)
DragoonClawNZ - Yep, I was just about ready to send it out and saw your post so I added it in, thinking it needed to be there. It was relevant!
And on both accounts, if people ever need a link to the subtitles or the disc art (at least current versions) they'll have them tucked away in the newsletter email for future reference.

Is anybody interested in doing a re-mix of the BD commentary to remove SE sound effects and replace them with the original audio? This probably isn't to big of a deal to most folks, but I'd prefer no traces of SE on the De-Ed. The biggest offender (for me) is the new Obi-Wan howl, but there are a few other instances of SE sounds coming through loud n' clear between comments. Shouldn't be too hard to mix in another audio track during most of these moments becasue there is nobody talking.
I'd be up for trying it myself if there is interest.
Sure. I don't really fancy doing it myself, but if you'd do it, I'd be delighted to use it :-)
A point I'm a little confused about: is 2.1 of Star Wars DE not full 1080p? Mind you, I'm not complaining: I watch it on my Sharp 40" LED and it's indistinguishable from other Blu Rays from that era (e.g. Alien).
I'm also not too shamed to admit I've become the local Despecialized Edition dealer among my circle of acquaintances. I'm burning three copies this week.
All versions of Star Wars DE are 720p. This resolution was chosen because it's easier on Harmy's computer (takes less time to render, less space on the HD, etc), better matches the upscaled GOUT sources, and in any case, the loss of detail from downrezing the bluray from 1080 to 720 was negligible anyway.

I'll give it a shot. Is there a list of SE audio changes somewhere? I can tackle the ones that stand out to me, but I'm sure I don't know of all of them. (guess I could patch in the '77 audio any time nobody's talking...)
Also, are there download links for the BD commentary track and the '77 stereo mixes, or should I just rip the audio myself?

Negligible with a capital "N." You could have fooled me.
Speaking of disc labels, any word on cover art, Harmy? Wasn't sure if there was going to be a new one, or, at the very least, a quick fix on the "RD-D2" typo? ;)

I was actually thinking of creating new ones myself for personal use. I love the ones that are there now but I just enjoy playing in Photoshop so much. I wouldn't mind making them available for all once I'm done.

Before Harmy planned to make a Blu-ray release also, I was going to make my own using the 2.0 MKV when it came out and port over the Deleted/Extended scenes, 'Making of' featurettes from the 'Complete Saga' set and Trailers/TV spots from the 2004 Bonus DVD, and modified the covers by replacing 'AVCHD' with 'Blu-ray' and adding the extra features on the back (same font).
Here's what I did:

Dude, read the thread. Harmy covered this not too long ago.
Left: Original 1080p from the 2011 BD release.
Right: 2011 BD release downscaled to 720p and then upscaled to 1080p.
The fact of the matter is that the master Lowry used for the 2004 DVDs and 2011 BDs is crap. This is probably due to the fact that Lowry is crap as well.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

My apologies. I've stumbled into this thing headfirst.

Well, it turns out that many of the SE sounds aren't as commentary free as I originally thought. If I could get a rip of the BD audio, I could use that to isolate the commentary from the track and add '77 audio behind it.
So, anybody got a rip of the BD audio?
Hi all,
In the past I've downloaded Harmy's BD's (which are kinda glitchy in playback in VLC on a Mac, but it kinda works :) ).
So I was very excited to see the AVCHD 2.1 of SW:DE. However, since it takes me a pretty long time to get it all via JDownloader...I was wondering whether it would be more wisely to wait for that 2.5 version?
Hi all,
the correct german soundmix ANHarm2GerFix192.ac3 and ANHarm2GerFix384.ac3 seems to be not longer available for download. Can someone help?
Thanks!
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but it's kinda related to the topic anyway: I remember Harmy getting some help from people spreading his download links to more hosters, torrents and the likes. I'm looking for some people to spread the German DE 2.5 (only the MKV for now). I already got help uploading it to usenet, but it would be good to get it to some more places. Any help is much appreciated - you can PM me.

If you can hold off a little longer it would probably be worth waiting for 2.5 IMHO as that will be the best version yet.
