Would it be nice to have both editions on video? Not really. It would be nice to have an edition where all the SFX cliches have been fixed and the bad changes have been exercized. In short, I want to see Han shoot first and I want all the violence restored. But why on Earth would anyone want to see bad SFX in any movie?
Sure, it was great when I was 6, but I'm not 6 anymore, and if I can see good SFX vs. bad SFX, I'll take good anyday.
You guys want the "force field" under the landspeeder, transparent snowspeeders, blocking looking effects shots during the Death Star battle? Why? I don't get it. I simply don't understand why anyone would want to see crappy SFX in Star Wars when you can see better SFX.
Because that is what it comes down to. The story hasn't been changed at all, so other than Han shooting first what is your bitch specifically?
