Info Wanted: Your ultimate Star Wars Collection...?

Lets say hypothetically you wanted to put together the ultimate Star Wars box set to give to your friends for Christmas. Imagine that you have super fast internet and tons of hard drive space so large file sizes are not an issue, you also have an unlimited supply of blank Blu-rays because you won the “Lifetime supply of blank blu-rays” contest.

What would you include in this box set, what would you not include and why?

L8wrtr's Prequel trilogy + Harmy's Despecialized editions (when they will be available on Blu-ray).

Maybe even just Harmy's DeEds+ L8wrtr's "Dawn of the Empire", as even if he made the PT more interesting than Lucas' cuts, Eps 1 and 2 are still boring (plus, he removed the only good line of ep 2 IMO: "Wanna buy some death sticks?").

"Let's face it, the Ewoks sucked, dude" -Hurley, Lost 5x13-Some like it Hoth.

Please bear with me if I tend to get too excited about anything or say too much, I have issues.

Mine would include Harmy's DED and Adywan's revisited on one disc (might need a BD50 for that unless seamless branching has been figured out) as well as Jambe's documentaries

Hmm I didn't think of Jambe's docs. I'd include them apart, as bonuses. I also completely forgot about Daneditor's ROTJ radical edit, but edited without the Bobba Fett bits.

New here (obviously) and was looking for a way to search the forums for those entries from L8wrtr but can't find one.

Sorry if it's right in my face but can you tell me where to find these?

Thanks!

I'd just like a barebones but high quality set with the three original movies in their original form with all their original mixes.  Just that.

Yeah, Molly - just grab Harmy's 3 DeSpecialized Editions of the original trilogy, no offense to anyone else's cuts.

I'm not sure if I can point you to the website without breaking the forum rules, but just google "fanedit", the website is among the 5 first results.

I would include FINALIZED versions from each of the following active  "fan preservation" projects…

1. Harmy's "Despecialized Edition HD"

2. Team Blu's "Star Wars Original Trilogy Theatrical Edition Blu-ray Set"

3. team negative1's "star wars 1977 - 35mm theatrical version"

Kind regards,

-A.S.

p.s.  For a more "in depth" treatment of the above, see my post HERE.

I think my ultimate collection should be sectioned by 4 boxsets

Box 1: The Prequel Trilogy

Box 2: The Clone Wars

Box 3: The Original Trilogy

Box 4: Special Features

The Prequel box will be a picture of Young Obi wan, qui gonn and young anakin and on the back will feature a shot of the episode iii final duel. Inside will feature 4 dvds spanning L8wter's trilogy and adywan's future prequel trilogy (I know it'll be good)

The Clone Wars box will have a shot of darth maul, pre visla and savage opress and the back will be a shot of anakin dueling asajj ventress. This box will be split by 4 dvds spanning the micro series, the malevolence arc, the season 5 finale arc and the 3 arcs about the nightsisters and darth maul

The Original Trilogy box will be a picture of Han, Luke and Leia and the back will be a shot of the duel in episode v. The box will consist of 4 dvds spanning the Harmy's episode iv and v and spence final cut of ROTJ, ANH:R, ANH:RHD, ESB:R and ROTJ:J

The special feature will be deleted scenes from the all 6 films some fan documentaries, and maybe plinkets reviews of the prequels. The box will have Yoda, R2 D2 and C3PO

Other box sets will be made of future series' and trilogies. And that would be my ultimate star wars collection

I'd skip the Prequels, and include the disc of Plinkett's insightful, and very funny reviews instead.
