Any word on this?
The fact that you said everything's ok is nice...but the site going down seems a little ominous.
Hope you guys are ok!
Kind of a rough history for that domain and it looks like they didn't pay their bill on time.
I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.
...that's what Lucas wants you to think.
...or is it what Disney wants you to think? Kennedy? I'm not sure anymore =|

Probably just didn't pay their bill, like vbangle said. Unfortunately, it happens all the time =|

I hope that's true, I was really excited about this project :(

That's pretty neat! 3D printing makes a lot these things easier
Very very cool! Their image stabilization is nowhere near as good as what I am getting with Adobe After Effects on my trailer project, but their hardware is awesome, and the sound thing is neat. I wonder if someone can make the hardware and sell them for people who don't have 3D printer access.

I recall team negative saying that they also tried stabilizing film using the sprocket holes, but this did not work perfectly due to the film actually having some gate weave of its own IN the film. Might be a similair case.

I know exactly what you are talking about. In the trailer I am working on, some of the scenes have the gate weave in the film. However, it moves fluidly from one frame to the next. In the video at the link, it is really jumpy at times and fluid at others. In one of the scenes that had gate weave in my version, I was able to fix it because it was a stationary scene. I first lined it up with the sprocket holes, and then did a second pass with elements in the scene and it stabilized it.
Sprocket hole stabilization should be "good enough". There's going to be gate weave in the composite scenes, so it will be impossible to fix everything (unless you're Mike Verta and you disassemble and reassemble everything), and by then, everything will be unnaturally still.
As long as it's not the GOUT, or The Brave Little Toaster (ugh), I think you'd just end up spending months of work and frustration on something that's not that noticable.

There will be gate weave in all the scenes, it is inherent in the cameras used. The only reason to remove it would be to be able to 'lock down' the shots for recompositing/reconstruction work.
You can save the weave out and replace it again when you are done though.

The Brave Little Toaster
Glad I am not the only one that Noticed that one.
Yeah, I noticed that too - pretty horrible - and it was one of my favorites growing up, so a remaster would be nice :-)

It's pretty impossible not to notice...it almost makes you seasick >_<
I was working on stabilizing it for a couple of days a while back, but having a job, I don't have much time to devote to that sort of thing anymore.

This is like a broken haiku.

They're still busy working on it. However, they've decided to be less public with the project.
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

The publicity of it was a major reason of liking it...

As well as making it a major target for legal action...
Although, I have no idea if the reason for the lack of updates has anything to do with any real threats. But it seems like the most logical reason.
