Childhood is generally a very optimistic time in ones life. Even kids who experience pretty intense trauma tend to hold onto some optimistic hopeful view on life.
Maybe it is that optimism you're missing. You're currently probably the forums biggest pessimist, almost everything you post is a major downer.
Children have the right idea. As rough of a place as it can be, the world is still a pretty awesome place full of all sorts of fantastic things to look forward to. But you're bound to miss it when you spend all your free time watching 10 - 15 horror films a week.
