Wedge could keep asking about the tower throughtout the Death Star battle, even as he is forced to flee and then after the Death Star has exploded.

Yep, that's pretty good.

"BUT WHAT ABOUT THAT TOWER?"
Just what I was thinking after my post! Of course Wedge could carry this throughout the trilogy...
"That armor's too strong for blasters."
"But what about that tower?"
or
"Hobby, I've been hit!"
"But what about that tower?" (as Luke's speeder crashes)
and
"Go for the power regulator on the north tower."
"But what about... right with ya, boss!"

Another potential Wedge repeated line: "That got em!"
“Lifes a song you don’t get to rehearse, and every single verse can make it that much worse”
He should also comment on the size of everything.
You could and should make Wedge the Ric Olie of the Original Trilogy.
Speaking of Ric Olie, in case this hasn't been suggested yet, Ric should say "You catch on pretty quick!" in reply to Obi-Wan's "That's no moon..." line.
If it hasn't been suggested already, this must happen! ;)
Does anyone know who actually created this?
Where were you in '77?
Yes^ In fact, the other person/object shooting first should be a running gag throughout the trilogy. The snow monster on Hoth fires a laser bolt at Luke before he chops off his arm, the stormtrooper on Endor should fire at Han and Leia before she shoots him, etc. Repeat where relevant.
All the bad guys and random objects shooting first is a brilliant idea.
Sort of like this.

There's also this.

The tower could be pointlessly tall so Wedge's first impression of the station could become. "Look at the size of that tower!"
He can say that anyway.

That shouldn't be too hard to recreate.

There could be a couple of guns added to Owen and Beru's skeletons to imply they shot first too.
We could gets glimpses of Jar-Jar on the Lars farm suggesting he is being held there as a hostage or a slave (Tatooinian Gothic). So when Luke is tearing up over the death of his adoptive parents the scene could be wrecked by the Gungan calling out. "Weesa Free!!!"
When someone dies Luke could suddenly change all his plans to be like his father in some way.
When Owen and Beru die he says "There's nothing here for me now, I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like my father."
When Ben dies he could say to Leia (and it doesn't really matter if the dub is off) "There's nothing here for me now, I want to join the Rebellion against the Empire and become a pilot like my father."
Hopefully with enough 'Mark' material this could be extended all the way into ROTR with increasingly more bizarre combinations.
I second the idea of adding guns the skeletons. :)
Would be funny if Owen recognized Threepio, or vice versa. Presuming there's no memory flush for goldenrod in ROTR.

I did a video on youtube a while back that had Michael Scott from The Office on the rebellion's comlink.
Not sure if it would fit with your edit, but feel free to use any ideas from it if you want.
Fantastic! My favorite bit was Leia's "shut up!"
You could take this further/have it make more sense by dubbing the guy who briefs the fighters with Michael Scott. Before the meeting starts you could have over the loud speaker "everybody conference room, five minutes."
I like it. :-)

That IS pretty good! If all the same dialogue is to be used, then Dwight could possibly be used as well for the conference meeting announcement, since he had one line in my video.

Ben could die really early on and be visibly edited out of the film but his dialogue is delivered with a spooky ghost echo.
Vader could fight a ghost version of Ben who looks like Ewan McGregor.
I suggested earlier that Obi-Wan not fight with Vader at all and get left behind on the Death Star still pulling levers. Or he could fight Vader after being left behind, give up, and go back to pulling levers.

In the middle of the shot where the Falcon is reversing out of the docking bay, Obi Wan could unknowingly turn the tractor beam on and off again, causing the Falcon to be pulled back in partially before finally escaping.

I like that
In the trench run when Obi tells Luke to use the force; Luke summons ghost Ric, flying his own fighter, who swoops in and destroys the Death Star.
Luke could destroy a bunch of things with the force. He could crash everybody's fighters to eliminate competition.
