I would recommend those films if I could vouch for the validity of their respective subtitles. I wouldn't recommend "Johnny Stecchino" at all, though, it contains mostly sicilian, and wouldn't be of much help to you in learning italian.

I'll be going over the movies I know and see what I can recommend. It's all down to the availability of decent subtitles. Most I've seen are sketchy and sometimes inaccurate.
Reminds me how I stumbled upon a french translated episode of Power Rangers a few years back. The episode title in English is "Best man for the job" in french it was "La femme president"(Female President). Okay I give credit to the translator for actually watching the episode but they're doing their job entirely wrong. It's like translating "Star Wars" into "Luke blows up the Death Star". Also recently watched an episode of Chuck with the french subs. OMG when Casey said "a new girl" the subs had "autre fiancée" or another fiancee. Okay by the dialog given "another undercover girlfriend" was implied but dammit it's not like Casey was implying that the new girl would marry him. Something like "autre copine"(another girlfriend) or "nouveau un femme"(a new woman) would've been better I think.

Hell, before I started this quest, I've probably only been exposed to maybe 9 sentences of Italian. Maybe 9. Probably less. Well that is if you don't count the tweets I had on my twitter feed, which I mainly glanced over until I decided to pay more attention.
9 ? Blimey, you've come a long way since then.

Sì. Mio maggiore esposizione un scena in "Switched at Birth". Before I remembered that scene I thought it had been absolutely zero. Then I remembered that a couple of movies I had seen had used "Ciao" and possibly some other basic Italian phrases. So I upped that possible number to 9.

So my language posts on my tumblr are starting to get noticed! Earlier I had posted this. Then I got this in response.
