I'm not sure if there will be an AVCHD version of 2.5, so it is nice to have the 2.1 as it is easy (and cheap) to burn, share and watch straight off of a stand-alone Blu-ray player. By the way, if you're just going to stream it, the .MKV of 2.5, being one complete file, might work better for your purpose.
