Is Harmy's 2.5 done?

Noooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh......................

Ah,ihr jungs wartet also auf Harmy´s Version 2.5...

Nun gut,ich kann warten....:-)

Hallo,

Could now bring to completion my project ...

I still need some german dialogue from the center speaker from the 5.1 SE version, I hope this a good clear voice without major music SFX ....

which are:

1. The entire sequence of the snowspeeder scene of Luke's rescue.

2. The first words from Ozzel to Piett : " Admiral? ... Yes, Captain! ..."

3. Boba Fett in the cockpit of the Slave 1 at the beginning of the    falcon
tracking

and now :

I've heard it somewhere once ... when Han is Chewie on intercom command for the copping of the gripping device at the star destroyer bridge, Chewie answers via intercom to it! This short growl, I would like to have...

can someone help me here?

greetings

Chris

A little update:

The German version is pretty much finished!

I've already compiled an MKV and gave it a test run on my Samsung TV (as well as an AVCHD on my PS3), but I'd like to test a few other devices before uploading the thing. Since I'd like to keep the filesize below 18 GB and due to the size of the DTS-HD track (and the fact that there's now 4 German tracks altogether), I can't include the international dubs, apart from Hairy Hen's English 5.1 track (and possibly the mono mix). Whoever wants those can mux them in themselves.

More info to come.

What I'm gonna need help with is sharing the thing. I'll upload it to uloz.to, but if you guys could upload it to other places or torrent it, that'd be great!

So, this video you are releasing will be the new 2.5 restored Blu-ray version of Star Wars from Harmy, combined with a German 2 channel stereo Laserdisk soundtrack or is it the 2006 GOUT PAL DVD German 2 channel stereo soundtrack you are using?

Since the 18 Gig video will be playable on Blu-ray set top hardware players, I assume the video is not in PAL format, but standard HD and the Blu-ray disk will play on U.S. Blu-ray machines?

Also, has the German soundtrack been slowed down from PAL to it's normal theatrical speed (which is the same as NTSC soundtrack speed) to match the non-PAL HD video Harmy has made?

Thanks for any info. :)

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

Yes, but it includes German title cards, the recreated German theatrical crawl, German Greedo subs (recreated to look like in the german theatrical version), the German end credits (recreated based on the VHS end credits) and German Despecialization credits.

I'm using a total of four different German audio tracks:

- the German 2006 GOUT PAL audio track (stereo), fixed to contain missing lines, sound effects and music cues.

- the German 1993 SilverScreen Laserdisc audio track (stereo)

- the German 1995 THX Laserdisc audio track (stereo)

- the German 2011 Blu-ray audio track, edited to fit the Despecialization, removing as many SE additions as possible (sadly not all of them). This track comes in DTS-HD Master Audio.

The MKV is, just like Harmy's release, at 720p HD resolution.

Since I'm not using any region code on the disc, it can be played on all Blu-ray players (as long as they play burned BD-Rs).

Yes.

Any progress on the seamless branching, or will it have only the german titles? Which would be fine by me.

Just like old VHS times. "You want everything in english? Go get the UK VHS." ;)

Multi-angle-type MKVs (actually it's more like playlists) are still relatively tricky to pull off and not supported by all players, so it's kinda pointless doing it, if it won't work for everyone. Multi-angle or seamless-branching Blu-rays are very complicated as well, not to mention that only some of the more complex authoring tools support it. I'm using Adobe Encore, which doesn't even support it for DVDs, so that's not going to happen for the time being.

spielt mit: Yes, but there's a lot going on with this and it can get confusing in the fine details. :)

Laserschwert: Thanks for the clarifications. :) So I could watch Harmy's video with English subtitles (I assume Harmy's 2.5 video has English subtitles as an option) turned on for the whole movie (sorry, mein Deutsch ist schlecht :) ), while still having the German soundtrack playing?

Any opinions as to which German soundtrack available in this set is the closest to the original theatrical soundtrack, and which has the highest overall sound quality (but maybe not quite as accurate to the theatrical soundtrack)?

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

Yes, English subtitles (and audio) will be included. The GOUT-based soundtrack is probably the one closest to the theatrical version, while the DTS track of course has the best quality.

Ah, I see. You mentioned above that as many of the SE changes in the official 2011 Blu-ray soundtracks have been removed as possible for use in this set. Has all the original German theatrical dialog (original theatrical voices) been restored to the DTS-HD soundtrack and the SE dialog voices removed?

In other words, the only SE changes that have not been removed from the 2011 Blu-ray set are audio effects and things like that, but the all the voices heard are the original theatrical voices of the characters and what you hear them say in all the scenes is the original theatrical version?

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

The only SE line that's still in there is Han's German "Yes, I bet you have.", which was re-recorded for the SE. As far as I know there weren't any other lines changed in the SE. So yes, the DTS track contains only theatrical lines, apart from Han's line to Greedo.

The rest of the remaining SE stuff is a sound effect here and there and some imperfect music or background sound transitions where I had to remove SE additions (and where EditDroid's 5.1 track didn't help fixing it).

That being said, the other three German tracks (GOUT, 1993, 1995) were ALL out of sync to each other AND Harmy's video track as well. I've edited them all to be as in-sync as possible to the video track, so I don't think it's noticable.
