At long last the testing is done, and the settings are applied and rendered. They are rather complicated, but they don't blow out the highlights like previous attempts (Correction on bottom):

I'm finally happy with how the Burning Homestead scene has turned out, and the rest of the film is actually brighter than previous attempts

In comparing these settings to the Team Blu screenshots, it's remarkable how close this one is:
