I have responded to this in the political thread
http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Politics/post/653693/#TopicPost653693
So to avoid aggravation and not seem like such a stingy jerk, I have decided to rename the thread one last time. I do want this thread to have discussion, just not argument. I think political updates would be best in the other thread, but even if they are here and could be discussed politically, I don't mind as long as it's simply a little discussion. But if it starts to turn into a debate, that's where I feel the thread has lost its original purpose. So the new name will largely be the same as the original, with some clarification.
Every post should get a new thread title.

*Down Syndrome*
I have no idea how to feel about this. It hits close to home (our baby had a different extra chromosome) but not having a child grow up with the condition, I can only speculate from the outside on how these parents would feel.

Should jurors be able to understand English?
It's a little funny that the man convicted of murder was appealing on the basis that they should have kept a juror who didn't speak English.

don't know know, by if they are going have jurors who can speak English and most of the evidence and testimony is going to be in English, I hope they are going to use an interpreter.

The Philadelphia Phillies fired Charlie Manuel today, and made Ryne Sandberg the interim manager.
Thanks for 2008 Charlie! We will miss you.

Global warming is making all manner of crazy happen. My favorite quote from that article: "That is always a risk with a building with a new shape."
A never before heard of shape! Always a risk that a new-shaped building will melt cars!
