It seems like you've fallen into a trap of thinking one can "perfect" a language. Frankly languages aren't "perfect" by any means. Hell the word "perfect" has lost it's initial meaning used superfluously to get across a meaning of "really good". I see it all the damn time on Tumblr.
*actor speaks a couple of lines in another language in an interview*
Random Tumblr person: "OMG! You are so perf!"
"Nobody's perf-"
*pic of someone or something implying they are perfect. I've seen this done with a pic of pizza*

So really the mythical "perfecting a language" isn't something you should beat yourself over. Rather just try again to learn it like a skill. Now and days it's not even going to cost you anymore money then you use to access this message board. Here free links for you:

French phrases books
French colloquial books
French learning books
Youtube video lessons

Free ways to learn the language. With the book links just click "read" next to the description. Don't have to pay anything. As for motivation or finding time to learn it this video helped me a little bit so maybe it could help you too. :-)

Un poco è maggiore che niente.
A little bit is better than nothing.

Even if all you did was read 2 pages a day that'd build up and you'd end up learning a lot of the language over a year. Hell I watch Chuck with the french subs on and it's allowed me to remember a whole bunch of things in the French language.

dans le voiture
espionne
Another sort of odd example is that "Comic Con" was translated as "D.B. Ensemble" I think so anyway. I only read it once so I could be totally misremembering it but whatever. I'll simply watch that scene again later to see if I was right.

Tì ringràzio! So I was thinking about what to PM you but I felt my question would benefit others here too. Do you know of any interesting Italian shows or movies I may not be aware of?

As an aside got restarted on Klingon. I had dabbled in learning Klingon several years ago but wasn't able to follow through with it. Anyways got some words in my head that I didn't know before like "yIH bom" - tribbles song.
