Is Abrams still going to direct Episode VII? Is he backing out like I heard a few weeks back?
It's a rumor denied by Lucasfilm at this point in time.
Odd that JJ hasn't denied it personally or just popped his head up. Here's a hypothetical...
IF JJ has quit, who is the worst possible replacement? (Realistic answers please).
I'll start... Paul W. S. Anderson?
They were talking about this on Rebel Force Radio, and how with the hype Disney gave to JJ, if he backed out, they would need a name as big or bigger than him, and they offered George Lucas and Steven Spielberg as the only two names who could really work. I can't say I disagree. It would be a PR disaster for Episode VII if they lost JJ at this point. I don't think Disney can really afford any bad PR on Episode VII. They gotta top the prequels minimum. Mess it up, and their Star Wars machine won't be nearly as strong as it could be.
