Hey, thanks for the advice. I hope the SE soundtracks are still available, I'll see to it that I buy all three of them (just in case I need more SE music scores).
I do own the "StarWars Trilogy - The original soundtrack anthology" set, so eventually I'll find the required piece of music there.

Gee, I don't know why GL just didn't use a CGI Emperor considering that he has stated that he hated the limitations of Latex and puppets and that CG 'just seems more real' to him.

Give me the Clive Monkey-Woman Reville Emperor over this stilted crap any day. It's amazing but the Reville-voiced composite actually does a more convincing job than McDiarmid. That's not really fair I guess as McDiarmind did a fantastic job matching the OOT TESB Reville-monkey-woman with his wonderful performance in ROTJ.

I agree that the performance of Ian McDiarmid and the folks who did his makeup could have been a lot better, however I still wanted to experiment with the scene to see if it can be brought up to a standard that will be enjoyable even for the average oot hardliner. Another further going idea was to photoshoply pull the emeperor's hood deeper into his face (much like in the prequels or in the beginning of RotJ) but considering the opacity problem and my lack of owning the background matte painting, this will be almost non-achievable for an amateur like me. What I could do is perhaps (like someone else suggested in another thread) darken the shadows on his face so you don't see his eyes (thus covering up the 'stoned look'), yet even that is one hell of a job to do, so we will see if I'm capable of getting this to work.
