It's not difficult to understand why people believe Abrams is getting itchy feet. This is the guy who initially turned down the job, has refused to commit to the scheduled 2015 release, and has bitched about working in the UK (saying it was making him 'crazy').

Not comparable. For one thing Star Wars was Lucas' film that he wanted to get out and get seen. Abrams working on Star Wars sequel, it's a film he didn't even want to work on in the first place. Right from the start the desires are different. Going through hardship on something that no matter what you just want it to be seen. Versus going through hardship on something you were goaded into working on. Disney is taking Abrams away from his family to work on the film. Lucas' wife was the one who ended up in the editing room with him.
It's different.
