Noting would have been lost because anything would have been stored on an SD card and i never leave the card in the camera and always transfer everything to the PC immediately after filming.

But everything is sorted now. I will have a new camera in the next few days thanks to the help of some very kind people.

As Canon have already discontinued the 650D (probably because of the freezing/ crashing problems people were reporting), I will be getting the 700D. Same camera with a few alterations, and around the same price as the 650D but with a 2 year guarantee.
