... Those links are timing out for me. :/

They expire? That's no fun at all! Who's in charge of this place?!

I neglected to mention that, in my case, my posted picture is still in the ImageShack account -- even though they changed that one link address, for whatever absurd reason. (If that's not your situation, sorry to have mentioned it. Didn't think it to be a hassle for you.)

Note: I updated my post's picture link to ImageShack's new link and it is showing once again.

I always use Imgur.com for image hosting. Links never expire (unless they have no views in a year.) No need for an account either. The only catch is  that pictures are compressed down to 10mb if they exceed 10mb. That is mostly not an issue for anything 1080p or less (which is mostly what get posted here).

I would highly recommend it.

Finally heard back about that print. They don't have it any more. :/

"NO-O-O-o-o-o-o-o-o!"

(Oh, wait, that's the other Lucas film.)

Unrelated question: is there any picture at all of the failed Dianoga scene?

I recall seeing one... Or did I just imagined it?

A Dianoga scene in THX???

I could be wrong but from what I remember they never filmed anything with a Dianog; the problem was Lucas could not figure out what it should look like.

I'll check out my SW material for the actual reference.

Oh ... you must mean this:

IMDb - THX 1138 (1971) - Trivia
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066434/trivia

"A scene in which THX falls into a garbage compactor and fends off a mutated rodent was cut because the monster did not look realistic. This situation was later reused in Star Wars."

Of course, now that George can make "realistic" monsters, expect to see yet another release -- THX 1138: The George Lucas Guaranteed Original Director's Cut.  :P

^ What a beauty. :) Where's it from?

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Too bad Robert Duvall doesn't have a Twitter or something. We could just ask him. Actually, he does apparently have one, but has never tweeted, yet has over 2000 followers. Go figure!

I hope to have that ancient magazine article from 1971 digitized soon. It won't fit on my current scanner, and the larger old one is essentially bricked for lack of Windows 7 drivers. (I was also concerned scanning might fade it.) I have a new camera that works amazingly well at rephotographing magazine pages and fragile old photos with natural light, so this ought to work out just fine.

How's the THX 1138 preservation coming along?

While over at the Song Of The South preservation thread, something came up that I thought you might like to try here. They are using DaVinci Resolve lite (a freeware version of the commercial program, with limited functionality) on their faded 16mm.

One function in their processing stream is for luminance stabilization. We hadn't tried this but it might be something to consider. (There might be an Avisynth filter/script for this to use if DaVinci Resolve isn't convenient.) It would make a single color correction work better over the length of the movie.

Those are fairly good custom products.
Maybe he'd come out with a "George Lucas In Fan-boy Hell: the Star Wars Convention elevator diorama" (courtesy Robot Chicken):

There are RC action figures, and there was a unlicensed(?) Lucas figure made in Japan, so it's possible. ;)

I already made inquiries about that print a while back. I was told they no longer have it.
