The OT crew are rebels. That's how they grew up, that's how they think. They are used to the odds being stacked against them, getting out by the skin of their teeth.

But the galaxy has changed. They aren't fighting the establishment anymore. They ARE the establishment. Back then good was good, evil was evil, and it was war. Now everything is in shades of gray. There are no empires to topple, no wars to fight; at least not in the way that they have been fought. There are new enemies to fight, but they are so different that the old guard cannot understand them.

It's a new kind of war, with a new kind of warrior. The heroes of the Rebellion are the first to fall.
