However, that documentary’s look at the original Star Wars film is priceless. I’m still hoping for Irvin Kershner to fight for his right to a Director’s Cut and release his original vision for HIS movie. “Weeza Free” indeed…"

I'm not calling you annoying. I am calling Harry Knowles annoying. Yeah, the OV on DVD would be a good thing, but there is no point in complaining about changes, especially when most of them are good.

The bad outweighs the good BY FAR.

The good: Fixing Han's vest fuckup on Bespin.
Auberish instead of English on control panels.
Maybe the celebration song and galaxy wide celebrations in place of Yub Nub, but without the addition of little-wooden-head.
The suped up Death Star explosions.

The bad: Every other damn change.

Jabba repeating his dialogue (The whole scene is rather pointless anyway)
Arguably the new Wampa
Luke's Ian-scream at Bespin, which has been mercifully removed
Jedi Rocks... ugh...


That's only really four, which is part of why I've never understood why the SE is so hated.

Why would Lucas add that stupid scream to the ‘97 version, to only remove it again for the ‘04 edition, what´s up with that?? I tell you why - because he doesn´t know what the hell he´s doing anymore - he has lost his vision. I bet he thought that scream was a great idea at the time but then somebody "with their marbles intact" tells him that this change doesn´t make any sense, because Luke chose to fall. Why the hell would he then scream like a scared little baby falling down? And also why would Han Solo not cover his own ass and take Greedo out before he did the opposite, it´s a clear "kill or be killed" situation without doubt in a brutal an unforgiving world of evil Empire domination. This kind of meddling and fiddling is just what Lucas is doing to our beloved OT, he´s making changes just for the sake of it and he doesn´s even know that they will be there in his next "ultimate vision" of those movies, he can´t be sure of those change, that has been proven with the "scream addition/removal". Somebody wiser who Lucas respects just might (and hopefully) come up to him and point out a lot of things that went awfully wrong since the OT versions. Let´s hope he listens, like before. Like when EVERYBODY were disgusted by the loathsome Jar Jar Binks in TPM. What did he do? He made his part in the next one almost non-existent.

I agree on most of those but the new Wampa is probably my favorite change. I love that change.

Eh.. the onlything me an Jimbo ever agree on is politics.

And that the Prequels and SE don't as suck as much somepeople think. Like Reg and Luke...

And yes, when Jimbo is angry, he does become rather annoying.
