So BD25 or BD50? Hopefully the film grain will be kept in, which is my understanding.
See above. It's a BD50. As for the grain:

...On closer examination of the HDX version, I could see now that it's oversharpened and that's why I thought it looked more compressed than it actually is. We're planning on maybe blurring it a bit to get back the cleaner look from before the oversharpening, and then sample some grain and re-add it over the whole movie to cover up whatever compression is left, and also to restore the grain in all scenes where compression might've reduced it.
^Sorry for the weird formatting.
Nice for the BD50 and glad you guys are working on the film grain. So would we download the BD50 then and burn it ourselves? The discs are a bit costly, even from Optical Quantum. Why not have a separate disc for the HDX version, BD25, and then keep everything else on the BD50? To keep better bitrate for the film. I'd like to have a 2-Disc anyway. OR both versions of the film on the BD50 and the extras on a BD25.
Of course seamless branching would be practically impossible due to the differing resolutions and quality of the sources. Full menus obviously.
What about high quality HDTV 1080i converted to 1080p BD25s of horror films not on Blu-ray yet? Or alternate versions? I'd like to see this continue.
