Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness — Page 17

You could have all the scenes in Padme's apartment play out like an American Sit- com.

So instead of the fancy special effects of the outside of the tower there could be a zoom into a still image of the building.

There could be canned laughter and every time a character enters the room applause.

Have you checked out the soundboards on starwars.com? It might be easier to use those since there is no background noise or music. But then again, it might be harder to actually use them since you can't download them or anything (as far as I am aware). But it might be worth a try, especially since you can mix different lines together on the site.

I don't know much about this kind of stuff though, so I'm not sure if it would work or if it's been mentioned already.

Been using them (via the Brash archive) since the beginning.

Not a bad idea.  Doubt I'd use it for more than one scene though.

Playing around with an idea for the opening:

Keeping this in sync has proven to be very difficult, which is why I faded the Star Wars music out after a little bit.  Not sure if I will/should keep as is or continue the SW music (and pull my hair out at the same time).

Incidentally, if anyone can place the music, I'd be impressed.  And if you can do so, you might be able to figure out what the next step is with this open.

That actually works really well with the scene. I think you should leave the fade out as it is.

Make that thunderous applause.

What you should do for the opening is some Star Fox 64 things. This is a video I found that shows it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJom15pCF6c. It combines ROYJ with Star Fox 64 for the Battle Of Endor. Doing something like this for the beginning might be great.

All you have to do is edit the sound effects and dialogue of SF64 to match the movie, or edit the movie to match the sound effects and dialogue of SF64

Here's a few ideas of my own:

  1. Odd Ball becomes Skippy the Annoying Frog
  2. Fox becomes Anakin
  3. Falcon becomes Obi-Wan

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Star Fox so it doesn't really have meaning to me.

During the Order 66 montage, maybe when Ki-Adi Muundi turns back, instead of seeing the clones he sees the shot of Chuck Norris' reveal in Expendables 2.

Might retain the "doomed" feeling but make it funny.

This just showed up in my kitchen:

The fine gentleman who sent it to me included a bonus disc, of which I have no idea what to make.

I forgot to post the source of the music from the earlier clip:

I'm thinking of doing something similar with the video, but using Star Wars video in the windows, and leaving the center open to show the space battle. It wouldn't really make sense from a narrative standpoint, but I think it could be a fun way to open the movie.

Well, that song will be stuck in my head for weeks. ;)

It also made me think of this...

The 'Boom, Booms' at the beginning of the film reminded me a bit of The Tamperer (the lyrics even go a bit sci-fi towards the middle with references to rockets etc)

Saw the Futurama episode (from last season?) where Roberto apparently dies. "It burns!" would be great for when Grievous bursts into flame.

Great idea!

I have been working on my opening idea and wow is it taking forever.  I'm committed to using the drums the whole way through, but I have to manually adjust each one to match the new song because I can't quite get it to line up otherwise.

Also had the idea to make it be a dream that Anakin is having, which at least explains why something so weird is in the movie.  But then I'll have to do some kind of flashback or other device to loop back to the actual space battle and confrontation on the Invisible Hand.

Why don't you make the whole section of the movie about Anakin turning into Darth Vader, Order 66, the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin, etc. into a bad dream? Anakin could wake up at the end and there could be birds chirping in the background. And then end the movie with that. You could make the whole storyline of Episode III pointless just by doing that :)

You could include the birth scene and Padme dying as part of the dream. Then you could use the scene of Anakin waking up from his dream about Padme, therefore making it seem like he doesn't care about the part about him becoming Darth Vader and killing all the Jedi, just about Padme.

I'm gonna show Anakin waking up roughly fifty-seven times, a few of which will include the DJs from Groundhog Day.

An idea for George's appearance:

He could be censored out or blurred.

I also agree with the previously stated idea of the Wookies and other species without clothing having the naked body part blur over their crotches.

Too bad you aren't planning on making "A Ridiculous Hope", "The Ridiculousness Strikes Back", and "Return of the Ridiculousness". There's a lot of potential there and repeated lines which could be transformed into running gags.

You could probably use the shot of Hayden staring underwater in the bathtub from Awake somewhere. ;)

The death of the major character should be made more obvious by preceding the gunshot with the light from a laser scope on the character's forehead--and after the fact, maybe cut to a celebration scene (maybe the end celebration from either Episode I or VI).

Not a bad idea.  I'll have to see if the light is something I can do easily in Vegas or if I'd need help.

You could cheat it by just making a red dot or even a period and making it transparent.
