Here it is in all it's glory. It's not perfect, but as good as I could get it considering the materials available.

Anyone have these kicking around somewhere? The link is dead.

Yes...these are awesome as they look just like my first VHS set. I've found some low res files of these but if hi res versions can be re-shared that would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!

So, I figured out a way to make my official 2004 and 2006 SW DVDs look way cooler; I took the inside leaflets and simply placed them over the horrible photoshop mess of the original covers:

Does anyone have these images in high definition? Even just scans of those leaflets would do (I can't scan them myself just now) but a better source would be preferable.

Excellent idea. I did the same to mine. Yep, I make covers all the time, but never print them out, so excellent free way to fix that ugly mess. Though they never leave the box.

Definitely gives it more of a retro artistic look.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

THANKS goes to EyeShotFirst for the great artwork.  I hope this fills the request.

Cheers

Thanks!

Sweet. Uploading now. I'm including the three disc labels I've made as well (one for Adywan's theatrical ESB, purist ANH, and Jambe Davdar's "Building Empire.")

Anyone still got these? The link is dead..

Those are great! I'm printing them now to use with the 2006 OOT DVDs. Anyone have a classic style DVD art to use with the 2004 Bonus disc with Empire of Dreams etc on it?

Alright, here are the covers, finished, without the "special features" section:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v58/chainsawash/SWver3.jpg" border="0" />

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v58/chainsawash/ESBver2.jpg" border="0" />

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v58/chainsawash/ROTJver2.jpg" border="0" />

I decided against the Special Features section because it didn't quite look right, plus it wasn't on the VHS sleeve anyway.  It wouldn't be hard for someone to add if they wanted to.

Here's the RapidShare download link - one ZIP file containing the full-res JPEGs of all three covers:
<p style="padding: 0px; margin-bottom: 3px; margin-top: 3px; font-size: 9pt;"><a href="http://rapidshare.com/files/219367632/Star_Wars_covers.zip</a>]http://rapidshare.com/files/219367632/Star_Wars_covers.zip">http://rapidshare.com/files/219367632/Star_Wars_covers.zip</a>[/url]
<p style="padding: 0px; margin-bottom: 3px; margin-top: 3px; font-size: 9pt;">
<p style="padding: 0px; margin-bottom: 3px; margin-top: 3px; font-size: 9pt;">I'll post a similar link for my Indiana Jones covers if anyone's interested (you can find the "thumbnails" for those on page 150).
Can we get a reup of these? I was wanting to switch my Faces covers with something else and I like the retro feel of these.

All I really want is each film as it was originally seen and heard in theaters; no fixes, corrections, "improvements" or modifications necessary.

In case anybody wants them, Ive made some small tweakings on my Star Wars trilogy posters as the prequel posters.

This is fantastic! Is there any chance you could do the same with the Episode numbers? So it can go with my Saga set?

Does anyone have a link to this set:

I lost it and I can't find it on this site anymore. Thanks!

In the same spirit, here are the prequels, OT style.

More brilliance! Could you do the prequels in 1997 OT/SE style?

Ask and you shall receive.  Working on AOTC and ROTS.
