I'm definitely interested in seeing your TPM. 6.49 gigs is a little too much for me, but if a smaller sized version comes online I'll download it and give you a review.

What's the easiest (Preferably free?) program to make an *.mkv?

The two I use are Vidcoder and MeGUI. They both take at least 48 hours to produce a good looking MKV (at least on my old laptop) but it's worth it.
