Episode III is the last one

I know, he keeps saying that...

...but something tells me he's a liar.

I also think he doesn't want to take the focus off his current projects.

I remember seeing am interview with Lucas in his private study. Behind him setting the scene was a bookshelf filled many of the books you would expect George Lucas to have. (Cambell, etc..)

Upon seeing the books in GL's library, a friend and I thought it would be interesting to still frame and zoom in on the book titles, just to see what George was reading.

Among the volumes was a recently published book called what else?

Telling Lies.

I think THIS may be the book in question.

So you never know what the future holds.

I also remember reading a post over at Episode-X that was an excellent collection of "Lucas Quotes" regarding the matter. He's actually said quite about the subject. (I wish I had saved that post.) He's actually said enough to make me think he's lying.

If I could read his mind right now, I would say that his hubris is telling him that the Star Wars TV show will last 7 to 10 years. Then after that series has run it's course, and possibly after another couple of years worth of media silence, he will suddenly decide to fullfill his original promise of 9 films.

A trilogy of trilogies.

Who knows...

George Lucas on Star Wars & Indiana Jones
Source: MTV Friday, September 10, 2004

George Lucas talked to MTV and he reassured that Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is the last live-action film in the saga (though a TV series is in the works, more on that here).

"The original 'Star Wars' was only three films, and that was what it was meant to be," Lucas said. "After a lot of pondering and thought, I went back to do the back story, but that pretty much tells the story. Episode six is the end. There isn't any more to it."

Heh.

Images of George being carted off to a 'home' in a wheelbarrow. Lalalalalah...

Maybe someone should start a care facility for directors who've lost 'it'.

I see places being reserved for Spielberg, Landis, Reitman and Sonnenfeld to name just a few.
"The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Goering.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." - Goebbels.

"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." - Orwell.

Are you saying we should put GL on a nurse home?

"I shouldn't be here! I created Star Wars and Indiana Jones!"
"Sure you did grandpa..."
"And I created Howard the Duck, and... I'm pretty sure I've created He-Man... I think..."
"Sure, grandpa... Want more pie?"

The words "live action" make me quiver a little bit. Those don't need to be in there to say what he wants to say, unless there are non-live action movies on the way.

Maybe shudder is a better word.
