The pod race announcers return as the host(s) of "Coruscant Tonight" relating handsome boy toy Anakin's daring rescue of Palpatine. (Via subtitles.) They then casually mention in a related story how many people died when the ship crash landed...

Airplane! love theme as Ani and Padme reunite. Record scratch as Padme tells him she's with child. Or "Take My Breath Away" Top Gun soundtrack?"

Perhaps some music from one of the Mario Kart games for the Obi Wan/Grievous chase, or another Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Or the racing game theme song from Wreck-It-Ralph.

Not yet, these were just tests.  But I should be able to do it with anyone who says "Grievous" in the movie, as I just combine an "st" word with the "eve" from "Grievous.

These precise audio edits are very hard to get just right.

For the Jedi Council scene in my edit of TPM I wanted to dub over the line...

"It is possible he was conceived by the midi-chlorians."

My second effort, that's in my finished edit has Qui-Gon saying:

"It is possible he was conceived in the force."

But, my first attempt was:

"It is possible he was conceived by the force."

Unfortunately to everybody's ears this actually just sounded like:

"It is possible he was conceived by force."

Which as you can imagine got fixed in my edit pretty damn rapidly!

Yes, it's very difficult, and there have been several times I abandoned an idea because I couldn't make it sound right.

And some people have mentioned things that I thought sounded good but really didn't.

I think it would be more hilarious if Lloyd jumps right before the tower gets taken out.

How hard would it be to put the Coruscant skyline outside the control tower windows? That would really sell it...

Maybe a shot of passengers freaking out in Airplane 2 would work here?

That was how I imagined it as well. I loved the use of the guy commenting on the radar display though! The crowd panic during the crash worked well too.

As for the skyline, since the shots are mostly static, it wouldn't be too hard... just really time consuming! At least for me, if I were doing it.

Man, with a couple of those lines matching up (especially the "coming in too hot"), it's like Lucas watched Airplane! before writing that scene.

And yes, I'll be fixing those stupid R2 uh-ohs.

It's marvelous. I agree, having Lloyd jump out closer to the crash would be better. Maybe Buck Murdock from The Sequel can help talk him down if needed.

Awesome! As Roberto does say "battledroid", is there any way for Steve to say "You call yourselves battledroids?"

Maybe lay in some video game sounds for the bridge stations, (like you did for the Genonosian control room in AOTR) or the famous Star Trek bridge sounds?

Are you going to mess with the Neimoidian on the bridge who's afflicted with a surfer dude accent?

I tried battledroid but the inflection was all wrong for that phrase.  I'm going to try to fit it in somewhere, just not there.

I'll think about the bridge noises.

Surfer dude - not sure what to do there.  Ideas welcome.

Here's a few ideas i just thought of:

  1. When Anakin is hanging on for his life in the elevator shaft, the droids say something like "He has the coffee" and "I knew it". When the droids are about to get crushed by the elevator, they say "COFFEE!!!"
  2. When Anakin is crashing the ship, the dialogue between him and Obi-Wan should be as follows: "Now this is podracing" (Anakin - EPI), "come to your senses!" (Obi-Wan - EPII), "Don't make me kill you." (Anakin - EPIII), "Oh dear" (Obi-Wan - EPII)
  3.  When Padme is giving birth, add more sound to her. These can be found across the internet, on YouTube, and in plenty of movies.
  4. Add he deleted scene of Yoda laning on Dagobah, but combine different Yoda dialogue to make him say "Oh shit."
  5. Lower the pitch of Grievous's voice.
  6. When Anakin is flying the flagship, add in the Jaive-speaking Soul brothers from Airplane, but with some new subtitles. Also add the scene where the girl says that they lost the engines, and the coffee is gone, and everybdy goes crazy.
