Feature an uncompressed PCM copy of the Dolby Prologic II soundtrack from the original Laser Discs. This is the clearest, crispest, nicest sound. No shoddy home-made 5.1 remix or fake DTS. Prologic II is 4-channel surround sound encoded into stereo tracks – so if you have a surround sound decoder and it’s compatible with Prologic II (it would have to be very old not to be, like more than 10 years old) then you will be able to enjoy the surround sound.
The PCM soundtrack on the LD's is not Pro-Logic II encoded! It can be Pro-Logic II decoded with the right equipment. Pro-Logic II was designed to create "5.1" sound from stereo sources, and didn't even exist until a few years ago, well after the last LD was ever pressed.
"The LaserDiscs are not anamorphic, so to make their picture anamorphic you have to add an extra line of resolution every 4 lines, which means interpolation."
That's crap as well. All you have to do is zoom in on the picture in your editing program, much like one would do with a DVD player or a digital TV. No extra lines are being created at all!
If you are going to brag about your DVD's or complain about others, at least educate yourself on the technical aspects before doing so.
