Oh and L0conut, my post wasn't directed at you either - I just got caught up on posts after a while of not reading here.
Either way, loco suggestion nonetheless... badum pish!
*crickets*
I was trying to come up with a distraction of some kind to make the wampa a bit scarier... Another point of focus...Oh well you might think I am a lunatic but I am trying to flesh stuff out not to hinder anyone... read this and have a go yourself about why horror scares us... And try and come up with something... We all know you don't need to see the Wampa or only a small glimpse or only know he is there but what can make it work better still?

would it be better to not hear so much too?
better if your not sure he is there or not?
I think it would be better only to see a slight shadow and then he springs out and a brief scratching noise no moans or groans as soon as you let the audience know he is there the game is up.
Or you think he is somewhere and he comes from another place..
Perhaps the wampa won't be in the cave at all in adys edit I am scaring you now? lol he could be waiting outside lol
The biggest trick here that Ady can pull is that we are not familiar with it and that it is not what we are used too for this scene especially. Although the Wampa Cave is so iconic it was not executed very well on both occasions. But better on the first for sure.
I hope you understand what am I am trying to say but I am not so good at communicating stuff sometimes.
I think the real trick to solving the wampa cave is almost entirely in the sound mix not so much visual but a combination for sure.
