After I finished my latest project, I must admit I had some fun to do it! So, I thought to do some other restorations based on the following facts:
- The movie should have a DTS laserdisc edition
- The movie should have an italian laserdisc edition
- The movie should have problems on DVD or BD (e.g. cropping, color timing, missing frames etc.) so that a preservation could be an interesting option
This is because I LOVE DTS laserdisc soundtracks, and I’d like to do preservations including an italian soundtrack (my native language), but there must be some reasons to do it… if the DVD or BD version has no problems, it’s futile to do a restoration, don’t you think?
The first two points are quite easy, as there are only around 140 DTS titles on laserdisc, and only few of them have the italian laserdisc counterpart - here you are the list (ported directly from another thread of mine):

I’ve done Jurassic Park because there was some interest in it, as the laserdisc has less cropped picture, and colors are different from the 3D BD… and the next project will be Lost World: Jurassic Park - because I’d like to do “sagas” (^^,)
I started this thread to know if there are some of the previous titles that deserve a preservation project - for example, if the DVD or BD edition is more cropped than laserdisc, color timing is different, there are cut scenes, or there is an “improved” version (you know what I mean…) - if the DVD or BD is missing a DTS soundtrack but otherwise has no problems is not a sufficient reason to do a restoration project! (or not?)
