14. Luke meets no resistance when leaving Hoth - I know this has been discussed at length and I hope the team do something to address this somehow but I will reaffirm this one also.

Yeh, this was discussed a long time ago. I went through and watched everything in depth to see what could be added, but then realised that nothing needs to be added. The Imperial fleet are long gone by the time Luke and the last few stragglers leave. Vader is after the Falcon and we see that they are pursuing Han & co. Vader and the other ships are there too. Vader isn't bothered about defeating the Rebels but only interested in getting Luke. He knows that capturing the Falcon is the key to ensnaring his son or that Luke may be onboard the Falcon. So Vader and the fleet blockade are gone, enabling Luke's easy escape.

sometimes it's better to leave stuff alone....like you say it can feel worse than what we have become familiar with for years and then the horror story starts. I can buy your take because I've bought it all along from the original.

there is still a part of me that thinks that the only fundamental difference between the falcon and all the other ships is that the falcons hyper drive does not work and that is the only reason why they are in that mess.

But I certainly don't want to see any huge action sequence involving loads of x-wings or transports or even capitol ships only that Hoth is not a safe place at this time for anyone that leaves and would only relate to luke because he is the only other one we don't see any others escape. And it's a huge tone shift that needs to happen for the dialog but it don't feel right in the environment.

Vader is in echo Base when they are leaving... So that makes me think that the invasion is still in full swing or should I say an Invasion of a by and large empty and evacuated echo base. Vader would have ordered that pursuit of the falcon from echo base Hanger. and to create a net for anything else that got through as that's what they were doing from the start. Mop up operations would be taking place. As long as you have a hyper drive that works you stand a good chance of getting away.

In simpler terms you end up in the falcons situation if your hyper drive does not work if it does you end up in a similar situation to the transport that escaped and any other escapees with a working hyper drive. as that's always how anyone get's out of a tricky spot by punching the light speed button.

If any changes were to be made in any edit of ESB that is how I think it should be handled.. Anything else would be over the top and even that handling I suggest may be over the top for some people.

The other continuity with luke jumping away is that it helps explain why he reaches Dagobah so quickly this obviously happens off screen presumably.

But why does Dagobah look like Hoth? I reckon you have altered this one but I have not checked your vid yet.

I never actually thought Vader was after Luke on Hoth at this point...Because the way the sequence is laid out...and the conversation with Vader and the emperor come later But you are right. Vader is after Luke as the main endgame and the conversation between Vader and the emperor back tracks that plot point.

Interesting stuff thanks for that one.
