I didn't really have any issues with the 2009 Star Trek music, since various Star Trek films have had different music. However I would definitely have a problem with Star Wars using a different score... the original Star Wars music is absolutely iconic, and is part of the fabric of the franchise. To replace it would be a sin, IMO. I feel the same way about the upcoming Man of Steel, as well... the music John Williams created for the Christopher Reeve Superman films is absolutely iconic, and John Ottman did the right thing in using it for Superman Returns.
